David Moore of the Dallas Morning News reports that free agent DE Jason Jones is believed to be closing in on an agreement with the Dolphins.

Jones has previously met with Steelers and Cowboys since free agency opened over a month ago before taking a second visit to the Dolphins last week.

There was talk that the Cowboys could turn their attention to signing Jones after the news thatDemarcus Lawrence is facing a four-game suspension, but it appears as though the Dolphinscould be his best option.

Jones, 29, is a former second-round pick of the Titans back in 2008. He played out his rookie contract with Tennessee and signed a free agent deal with the Seahawks. However, he spent just a year in Seattle before signing with the Lions the following year.

Jones is currently among the best available defensive linemen in the free agent market.

So much for Stephen Jones talking about pass rush being a top priority.

This worries people not because of the idea of Jason Jones being a good player, but because this makes Joey Bosa look like our FO's plan to maintain mediocrity.

Jason Jones is as mediocre as mediocre gets. Quit rueing bums. There are a bunch of draftable guys that can get you 3-4 sacks a year. Jack Crawford had close to that a year ago and still has room to get better. Jones is a finished product.

As the farmer said to the little boy.. If you don't want to eat any of my apples then please stop shaking my tree.

Why bring him in if they view him in this way?

I agree about Jason Jones...but I'm not the one flying him in and meeting with him.

What's up with the Bosa hate? The kid hasn't play a down in the NFL yet. For all we know he works out for us.
We don't even know if they will spend the 1st pick on him or use 2nd rounder on likes of Ogbah.

They brought him in to see if he would play for $1.98. He wanted $2.00. They let him walk.

That and I think you're going to see two DE's drafted within the four rounds.

You've got the kid from Oakland who's going to play a significant number of snaps.

J. Crawford can play out there... Then you've got two more guys coming back after 4.

Also hints that T. Crawford might play some outside....although it isn't like we are loaded with DT talent either.

I just can't see any reason why we haven't signed him yet....given the mess with our DL, all it would've been was a one year deal.

He's a "poor man's Greg Ellis".

He's better vs. the run than he is rushing the passer.

The Cowboys are possibly thinking they'll get a better player in the draft.

On top of that there are two DE's coming back after week 4.

When you say J Crawford "can play out there", it doesn't fill me with any sense of confidence. And it doesn't when Stephen Jones tries to mention Tyrone Crawford playing there either.

I hope we draft Bosa and he has an explosive year that makes everyone look stupid. So much disrespect for an incrediblely talented player.
