I think our 3-4 defense was vanilla this year because Zimmer is just learning it. I think a 3-4 guru like Capers could take this defense to the next level.

The defense in Houston stunk because of the players. They get rid of Glenn and Sharper, their 2 best players and Jason Babin is a bust. Just a very bad team. Not fair to grade Capers on that mess. Casserly should have been the first out, not Capers.

You let Capers focus on JUST defense with the players we have. Add to that he's a 3-4 guru. Add Ahmad Brooks (1st) and LaRon Landry (2nd) in the draft. Sign John Abraham at ROLB.

Spears
Ferguson
Canty
Abraham
James
Brooks
Ware
Newman
Henry
Williams
Landry
Glenn (Nickel)

NOW THAT'S AN INTIMIDATING DEFENSE!!!

We can get Jason Fabini (Jets) in FA (drafted by Parcells) to shore up the RT spot. No need to draft.

I like your thinking. I say bring him in, and let Zimmer go somewhere where he will get more publicity. (for head coaching reasons)

Zimmer will be back

Let's hope not!! Him and Payton need to go!

Capers would be 100 times better as our D/C in the 3-4...

I said bring in Capers, just because of his knowledge of the 3-4.

But you gotta give Zimmer time to learn this thing, and you gotta take into account that there were alotta yungins on this defense. I expect Spears and Canty to be huge next year. They have to be.

My vote goes to if Zimmer leaves im up for Don Capers... I really like Zimmer and once Zimmer adjust to the 3-4 we going to be a hell of a defense...

it's not only Zimmer fault it's Parcells and the other assistant coach dealing with the defense fault...

Everybody has to get on the same page.

I would like to see Norv Turner over Sean Payton.

Cowboys should hire Jimmy Johnson to be the General Manager... Him and Parcells working together will be a hell of a tandom... it's like we are getting the best of both worlds...

If Capers ends up with a coordinator position, I'd bet its in Miami.

Wow, I didn't know Miami ran the 3-4.

The scheme they run is "3-4" ish. They did run some 3-4 looks. What they ran was actually what I was hoping Dallas would do more of this year.

Capers and Saban are friends. They coached together at Kent State in the 70s. Saban didn't really find a "real" defensive coordinator last year. He interviewed several others before someone.

BTW, Saban and Capers have also reportedly met already.
