Domers can't even beat the academies this year

In the past, no matter how mediocre the domers were, you could always count on them beating the academies. This year they can't even do that.

Navy beat the golden domers for the first time since 1963.

Gotta love it.

43 years. All winning streaks end just like all losing streaks end. Might as well happen this year when everything else is going wrong. navy played hard and deserved to win. there have been a couple of occassions in the last 43 years that ND lucked out and won. So Navy had this one coming. For all you domer haters, CW had the ND players kneel down and honor the Navy singing their School song just like he did the previous two years when we won. Now that is the way you should be. Bellicheat should take notes.

Sorry but your team doesn't get off that easy. I can understand losing to ranked teams and even quality unranked teams but there is simply no excuse for losing to Navy. Instead of rationalizing the loss by saying "All winning streaks end just like all losing streaks end" you should be calling your head coach out. This is bad even for the current situation at Notre Dame. This is a game you were expected to win even during this tumuluous season and you couldn't even win against Navy. That's pathetic.

Of course, I get what's going on. Everyone has attacked Notre Dame for prematurely extending Weis' contract so fans like yourself have become defensive by rationalizing Weis' losses. Instead, you should be honest and objective by admitting a loss to Navy was unacceptable even by this seasons' standards. Weis should be fired if they lose to Air Force too.

I am not really big into the Notre Dame thing, I neither love or hate them. I think a good ND team is good for college football.

That being said, a few years ago, I was pretty sad when Jarious Jackson led that come back against a decent navy team. This year is the first time since Staubach they have lost. Pretty cool.

Jim Rom was ripping on Weis big time today.

He said that Willingham never lost to Navy and that under no circumstances should Notre Dame ever lose to Navy.

He had a chuckle at Weis saying that his team has to learn how to win those type of games. He said he couldn't believe that is the stuff now coming out of Weis' hole. His players now have to learn how to beat Navy.

Last year in a bowl game BC lucked out beating Navy- even their coach and players admitted it. Typical ignorance from mediots. Air Force is 7-3 this year and will be going to a bowl. Army is the only academy team that really is bad.

by the way here is ND's strength of schedule (plus all other college teams as of Saturday)

There is a difference between coming close and actually beating a team. We could spend all day listing top 5 teams that came close to being upset by a really weak team. Navy doesn't deserve credit for playing BC close and BC was not exactly a powerhouse either. Air Force is bad. They have 7 wins because they haven't played a ranked team. And two of their losses were against bad teams in Navy and BYU. And they didn't just lose to BYU, they got killed by them!

No one is arguing that ND doesn't play a tough schedule. All we are arguing is that you couldn't even beat the teams you are supposed to beat. And it's Notre Dame's fault for being arrogant and playing the type of schedule they do. No one is forcing them to do that but they feel they are above everyone and that they have to play that type of schedule to prove they are "Notre Dame"

BYU is not what I would classify a bad team. They are the class of the conference and with the exception of Hawaii and Boise could be the top non-BCS school in the country

james wooods- this ARROGANCE you claim about schedules. You are full of it. That is tradition at ND - we try and play a tough schedule every year. Its been that way for decades. Which the current AD is changing- he is weakening the schedule- something a lot of fans are not happy with. I think he probably has the right outlook- its too hard to play a tough schedule with tough teams early in the year as we have done in this day and age. Too many good players on too many good teams. And the BCS does not allow you to lose more then one game and make it to the NC or even BCS most of the time. So an early loss can just about cripple you. If not for that I would not want our schedule to change either.
