• Don't look now, but I see yet another late-season Cowboys collapse coming. In the last five weeks of its schedule, Dallas is at the Giants, home against San Diego, at New Orleans, at Washington and home against Philadelphia.

That'll be Wade Phillips' Bataan Death March. Count on it.

Good I am glad everyone is saying this. Last year at this time they were fitting us for SB rings. Keep it coming. Peter "Donuts" King needs to be next because whatever he says the opposite happens.

Look, there's no doubt that the end of the schedule will be tough, but this team needs that in no other way if it wants to finally face its December-slide issues and turn them around confidently. What better way to enter the playoffs than to face a tough end to the schedule and conquer it? The stage is set quite nicely for this team to finally make a statement; it's now up to them to decide if they want to or not - face the pressure or not. if they do so they'll enter the playoffs with confidence, and that can only help them finlly get a playoff win and them move forward from there.

I heard the same thing last year and we all know how that movie ended.:(

However, you do make an excellent point. If the team can manage to win a couple of December games, that will give them a lot of confidence and momentum going into the playoffs.

Or the opposite could happen and we end December the same way we have since 1996, on a losing note. We then either limp into the playoffs and have a first round exit or we dont even qualify.

Will 2009 be any different????

It sure does look like another late season melt down. Maybe this time our Cowboys can shut the critics up and prove everybody wrong. I have faith.

Wait a sec....

Faith hasnt worked out so well as of late....Maybe if I shout in 10" bold letters they might get the idea!

This is all so stupid. If we can't get past a late season run where the best teams are the teams in our own division, we don't deserve to be a playoff team, anyway.

I can't blame them for thinking that way. It's been the Cowboys calling card the past several years.

I don't see it changing this year either, especially with Wade running the show.

One thing you can count on is we will have to hear this UNTIL THEY DON'T HAVE A COLAPSE IN DECEMBER. However, you can also count on teams you think are going to be good are not, and visa versa. Had you had the Falcons and Fins on your schedule last year it would have looked like 2 easy W's, and we saw how that worked out. Injuries and chemistry. You never know.

I hope someone puts this up in the lockerroom.

Agreed.

I can't believe the NFL really gave us that schedule. They push that December story line.

We have done this to ourselves with our annual december swoon. Until we don't it will come up and IT SHOULD.

Our December schedule is not easy, but atleast right now on paper it doesn't look near as tough as last years December schedule to me.

Lets not forget that last years both New Orleans and San Diego had 8-8 records.

And I don't see anything that San Diego has done this offseason that scares me. They added Burnett, but lost Igor Oshansky (to us).... And lets be honest, LT has a ton of miles on his legs, and will be 30 next year.

Yeah, when you look at last season's records of our December opponents, it doesn't look difficult at all. Division games can be tough, but Philly and Wash don't scare me. When we lose to them, it's because we stink up the joint, not because they're such world beaters. Even though the Giants were 12-4, I feel we have a better chance of winning against them than the other two. As far as San Diego, they don't look as formidable as they once did. New Orleans could spell trouble, but only because it's on the road. Then again, there are just as many Dallas fans there as Saints fans.

lets get real, if you looked at our post-tday schedule and had great, confident thoughts then you are essentially a total homer

that is a BRUTAL final stretch for a poorly coached team.

As they say, people who don't heed history's lessons are doomed to repeat them. I still see Wade at the helm. He has been at the helm of many teams with decent talent that failed to produce much of anything that actually counts.

It may appear that way now, but it could end up being a cake walk by the time it comes around. With the NFL, you can never really tell who will actually be good and who will suck before the season starts.

It's really a combo of a tough November / December

The only "easy" game we get is against duh Raiduhs.

They put all the easy games up front and back loaded our schedule.

You're right... on any sunday... etc.

But the NFC East games are brutal even if the skins were 1-15. Our finish & wade's ouster is set to be ugly. Hopefully it's not but expectations of a strong finish are simply unrealistic.

Expect this to be a common theme all year, even if we start 9-0
