Thirteen greats from the Cowboys' past were on the original list of 162 Seniors nominees for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026. Five of those Cowboys legends are among the 52 players to advance to the next round of voting.

Canton's Seniors category is reserved for players who have appeared in a professional football game no more recently than 25 years ago. For this cycle, the cutoff is the 2000 season.

A nine-person Blue-Ribbon Committee, whose members also serve on the full Hall of Fame Selection Committee, will reduce the current list to 25 names and then again to nine semifinalists over the next several weeks. Three finalists will eventually be up for consideration in the Hall.

Here are the five Cowboys Seniors who have advanced in this year's voting:

• DE Ed 'Too Tall' Jones (1974-1978, 1980-1989)
• LB Lee Roy Jordan (1963-1976)
• DE Harvey Martin (1973-1983)
• QB Don Meredith (1960-1968)
• CB Everson Walls (1981-1989)

Leroy Jordan and Walls need to be in the hall first.

I agree all should be voted in , but we all know they would not do that…maybe only one. But you could put Too Tall in based on football career and Dandy Don based on his broadcasting career and one of the original members of the MNF iconic team. Surprisingly, Cosell is also not in the HoF.

Jordan belongs in the Hall of Fame. I thought he deserved it more than Chuck Howley. The rest were good players but borderline. I think if Too Tall didn't quit football for boxing and come back the way he did, he might have had a better chance.

I doubt any get in but Jordan and Walls most deserving. I wonder if the DV thing against Martin is the sticking point for him. Jordan like Howley should have been in years ago. Dandy Don missing playoff success on his resume.

-20 or 23 Sack Season(depending on the source) in a 14 Game Year in 1977

-Still the All Time Post Season Sack Leader

-Member of the All 1970's Team

-4 All Pro Honors,4 Pro Bowls

-Retired as the Cowboys All Time Sack Leader(since surpassed by Demarcus Ware)

His Career when compared to other DE's already in the HOF stacks up or surpasses why he should be there
