Donovan Ezeiruaku had surgery for hip labrum tear

Dang. Is there any report on when this may of happened during the season?

That’s pretty significant. I’ve never had a hip surgery but my shoulder labrum tear took 9 months before I was back to normal. I know there are different grades of tear. Let’s hope it was just cleaning up the edges.

I had hip labrum tears. For some reason they heal quicker than shoulder labrum tears. As long as physio and recovery go well for him, he will be 100%

The Cowboys will likely be without edge rusher Donovan Ezeiruaku until training camp. Last year’s second-round pick needed surgery to repair a hip labrum injury he played through at the end of his rookie year. The 44th pick in 2025 played in all 17 games, finishing with 40 tackles, two sacks, nine tackles for loss, 12 quarterback hits and a forced fumble. Dallas is extremely thin at edge rusher with several additions expected in free agency and the draft. Ezeiruaku is expected to make a full recovery and be a full-time starter after starting nine games last season. - Jon Machota

Seems like Dallas has recently been having a whole lotta players fall under the returns after post surgical procedure category ie Overshown, Revel, Tyler Smith, Bland and now EZ.

Heck I might have even missed one or two.

Let's hope all of them are as good as new upon return. Or better even, lol.

Cowboys!

Huh tore mine. Had surgery and I was never able to play any sport that involves sprinting again. I tore it at 27. 39 now and still can’t sprint without my hip giving out. And I’ve had it mri multiple times after.

That is brutal! Both mine tore due to impingement issues. A whiz kid young DR was able to repair mine via arthroscopic procedure. That was 2009.

Wed be hard pressed not to take a pass rusher at 20. Im thrown off by our base defense though and who will or wont fit.

You’re not an elite athlete.

Honestly why didnt he do it a day after we were eleminated from the playoffs?

Waiting until now, nearly 3 months later, feels like he tries to avoid official workouts.

And its not like the guy doesnt need them.
Many reasons why he didn’t have the surgery but you haters immediately assume the worse. So sad.

That's a good point. Still, it's fairly early in the offseason. Hopefully he'll be ready for tc
