Donovan Mcnabb says Dak Prescott is the 2025 MVP so far

I'd have to refresh my memory on who all he played with.

Bottom line though, he wasn't a great QB. If not on a team built from the trenches, he would have had a much different career.

Once his career came to an end, he immediately faded out of view. Hardly ever mentioned and when mentioned it's more often for a flubb.

The media nor players reference him as any kind of benchmark for QB play. More a product of if you can become a starting QB, you're going to be relevant while you play because it's a media driven product.
His weapons were guys like James Trash, Todd Pinkston, Freddie Mitchell…..terrible.

He always had a nice group of backs. Not big names but underrated ones in Westbrook, Staley….had some dogs on defense though…..my goodness.

Theirs weird I never heard of mechanic’s being an issue for McNabb and Dak. Maybe Dak early on but those years are long gone.
When McNabb got tired especially later in his career he locked out his front knee on throws and would send the pass straight into the turf.

Dak still has mechanics issues he has gotten better but his 3 step drops are still inconsistent, his leg spacing is still inconsistent at times. H e has gotten better but he is not a technician when it comes to his mechanics.

Played in 5 NFC Championship games with a piss poor receiving core throughout his career. Had one year with a HOF caliber WR (TO). If TO didn’t go crazy that duo would have ruled the NFL for multiple seasons. One of the most underrated players in my lifetime.
Nonetheless, he’s overtly jealous of the team’s success in recent years. The Eagles don’t have an MVP caliber quarterback, now. McNabb wasn’t one either. But the current QB has two Super Bowl appearances and a win. He takes every opportunity to fire a barb at the Eagles. Fans move on. Players should, too.

Just curious but who are guys who consistently have good mechanics at qb?

I'm gonna say this and hate myself afterwards: McNabb...he was a baller...but an expert passer of the football he was not. His passing fundamentals were AWFUL and he would dirt balls at the worst possible moments. Yes, he made it to like 4 straight NFC Championship games...but...I was never worried he was gonna win it all. NEVER.
Ok...the part that I hate myself for: I'd have to say Dak has evolved into a better passer than McNabb ever was. Yuck...I hate mysSD

For the record, I don't like either QB that much...and McNabb was more of a gamer than Dak...but...his passing technique was GAHBAGE!!!

The point is don't tell one side to shut up and let it go while the other side continues as usual and bombards the board with constant stats that serve only one person rather than the team. Remember.... one side is constantly reminded that it's a team game, except when it suits their agenda
I have very little problem with someone posting something like this that is relevant about our team or what some statisticians say about one of our players. The constant arguing back and forth is the problem not McNabb thinking Prescott has played like an MVP.

This means about as much as Dak's-1 non first place vote for MVP.

Cowboys Trophy Case in the 21st Century:

"Hanging around the rim"
"6th or 7th in regular season wins"
"three straight 12 win seasons"
"Tied Green Bay"
"Dak's 1 MVP vote"
"Dak's McNabb vote"

McNabb was a good player and deserved better than how Philly treated him, but he was no legend.

Early career Dak reminded me a ton of McNabb. Really thick QB who could run a bit and threw some really god-awful misses. Dak cleaned up those wild overthrows and indeed developed into a lot better passer.

Back to McNabb, I think the pressure in Philly just shot him mentally and destroyed his confidence. The city was just relentless to him, and he wasn't the kind of personality who could handle it.
