Don't be surprised if the Cowboys end up missing the playoffs

I hate being negative but this looks like the same exact team we saw last season. So much for TO being the problem with this team it's losing big games every December that creates all the frustration and bad chemistry. Just like after the loss to Pittsburgh last December another big stir up occurred by a member of the media as a result of yet another big December game loss. If the Cowboys don't beat the Chargers on Sunday they'll be staggering in full meltdown mode and may end up missing the playoffs all together. They're tied with Philly for the division lead and are only one game ahead of the Giants who'll they'll lose a tie breaker to if they both end the season with the same record. The Cowboys have the same record as GB who they gave new life to a few weeks ago when the Packers appeared to be on life support. GB will also win a tie breaker over us if we end the season with the same record.

We just gave the Giants new life when we could have pretty much buried them and they now have a very good shot to make the playoffs as at least a wildcard team. With New Orleans coming up the Cowboys will be in serious trouble if they lose on Sunday. Even a terminal homer would have a tough time feeling optimistic about the Cowboys beating the high powered Saints in the Super Dome while in the middle of another Dec swoon. Let's face it the Cowboys are staring at a MAJOR collapse that could make last years Dec meltdown pale in comparison if they don't step up Sunday and come away with a win. If they can't win an IMPORTANT game at home with all they have riding on the next 4 weeks this team is no better than the gutless team we saw go 1-3 last Dec in route to a 44-6 drubbing in the season finale at Philly.

so the point is, if they lose games in December they suck?

and we shouldn't be surprised if they lose those games because the games are against really good teams?

we really should make logic a mandatory course in high school.

Can we play at least one or two more in December games before judgement on this team is passed?

Hey I sure that would make some around here real happy. Dallas lost a game last week we are still in 1st and still control our own. SD is a good team they are not unbeatable nor are the Saints, Wash or philly.

Giants won last week prior to that they lost 5 of 6 games now all of a sudden they are great world beaters?

Surprisingly, that's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 topics, which could have braced me for what's going to happen. Why I haven't read them on this board until just this moment so that I could be prepared is shocking.

No, the point is if they lose important games Dec games every season they're choking. What we're seeing is a TREND just like the breakdowns on defense that we don't see all year until the big December games arrive. It happens every year and the team is always looking for someone as the scapegoat. The reason leadership and chemistry is such an issue with this team is they always FOLD in the money games and don't have a leader for a head coach. Wade Phillips doesn't have a CLUE how to prepare a team for a playoff run.

I am a negative person, but i feel very positive about this team and very confident about this weekends game. I don’t think this is the same team and i feel they now found something to rally around and i believe they will play their best game of the season.

My bones feel joy about this team and i can’t seem to shake it. I didn’t feel this way last week before the Giants game. Regardless if this team doesn’t make the playoffs, i did enjoy this years team. I like the players and i like the chemistry so much more than last years version. That’s all.

You may be right about the coach not having a clue but you also have to ask the question: Is there enough talent to win when wins matter?

We are about to find out....

More then you will ever know.

Try teaching a couple of college classes and you will see what I mean.

And you do.

Got it.

I'm not getting paid millions to have a clue how to win big games but I do know that lard butt on the sidelines has no clue how to win big games. Check his playoff record! :toast:

Critical thinking should be about half your day from Kindergarten through 6th grade.

Wow. Now that's a refreshing post.

I feel the same way... Only you might be more positive than I am. :)

But I do think if we fall short, it will be because we simply weren't good enough. At least we rid the locker room of the losers and tried to do it the right way this time.

Based on how the Giants had been playing I don't consider them a "real good" team. However we just gave them new life and the Cowboys may very well end up finishing third in the NFC East behind Philly and NY which is where most everyone had them prior to the season.

If this team doesn't make the playoffs I won't be shocked. They've had chances to solidify their playoff position against Green Bay and New York and failed to do so.Now those failures don't mean that they won't make the playoffs, but it does mean that the road to glory will be harder to hold.

Same here.

This game Sunday should be a true indicator of who this team is. We know the chemistry is right, now I hope the talent is good enough.
