Lol.

There needs to be a Tony Romo forum.

It would take away about a 1/4 of the
Dallas "fans" on here.

Couldn't agree more, that's a painful injury to deal with. No one should ever question his toughness after that Niners game last year

I never have questioned his heart or his will and after Sunday nobody should never question it again. To sacrifice himself and his career for the team and us fans. The pain he had to been going through, avoiding rushers, making plays down the field and the 4th and 12 final play for the win, just to have a chance at the playoffs. If this team doesn't stand up for that come sunday against the Eagles then it will be their heart in question.

My problem with romo is that he seemed to go into panic mode too easily and does not trust the game plan and bails.

He is like a basketball point guard that trusts his own athletic skill more than the team and he freelances too often.

He does make breathtaking plays but a team does not win consistently when your Qb leads by bailing on the game plan and trying to do too much on his own.

That is my take on romo after years of observation. I like the guy. I pull for the guy. But at times during the games you can literally see the offense coming undone and panic mode set in.

This is why he needs a real coach, either head coach or OC that can keep him calm and adjust playcalling when needed. He has one of the quickest releases and they rarely use it. They abandon the running game when leading. They have good weapons but don't exploit them. It's fustrating to watch. After seven years you would think Garret would have figured this out by now. Parcells knew this about Romo in 2006. I guess it comes down to how bad does Jerry want to win and what is he willing to give up. Romo will be long gone by the time he wants another stadium.

Thank you Garrett for your inability to devise ways to take the pressure off Romo with screen passes and bootlegs and quick passes and to just continue with your long-developing pass plays that kept getting him killed.. Oh yeah and your inability to adjust to a blitz...

I think this year, it's quite evident Romo is patient with his reads. The problem is the routes suck. The last play against the Commanders, Romo was quite patient in his reads and he had absolutely nothing. The same was the case with the bomb to TWill.

How you can link Romo's toughness to winning is beyond me?

They are separate issues entirely.

Gutty and Clutch.

The clutch factor was amplified by the fact that he had a serious injury while coming through....

I understand that many think Garrett's coaching is partly to blame. My question is....Will Romo still be a freelance, streetball type of player with another coach or will he play within that coach's system ?

I think its a fair question. The thing is that Garrett has been the play caller for most of the time that Romo has been here so it is difficult to separate the two when evaluating this. There are some who say Romo has to freelance because of Garrett but we just dont know for certain if he does it because of Garrett or if its just his nature and he will continue to do it regardless of HC. It would be interesting to find out.

During Parcells years I dont remember if Garrett was the play caller or what type of influence/control he had.

You have to be kidding.
That's a whole new level if you think that.
just...wow

Yeah, that "Whole new level" you speak about.. is called the truth. Hey, check it out, another game where we need Tony the most and he isn't there for us. What do you know?

I never said this guy was John Elway.

And beyond that your remark has zero to do with his toughness. The guy is taking shots and doing whatever he can this week to try to do just that.

No they aren't going to make the Superbowl but the guy is doing all he can to try and play Sunday so he can give them a shot to get into the playoffs and try to go after just that.

Do you honestly believe that Romo is trying all he can to play Sunday? There is ZERO chance he plays. That was all Jerry and Jason trying to make Philly prepare for both. I assure you that Romo is 100% not playing. Just accept the fact that Orton is going to be our QB and we need to root him on as fans. If Cassel could light up the Eagles, then so can Orton.

Well, last game Romo had a wild 60ish yds in the first half, that's a amazingly high bar for Orton.

I actually agree with you that I don't believe there was any chance he'd play. I've been on the fact that it will be Orton since Monday.

That said, yes, I do believe Romo is doing all he can personally do to be allowed to play. His problem isn't going to be him, or his toughness, or willingness to play. It's going to come down to a simple fact that they're not going to allow him to because of the injury.

That doesn't change the fact that I have zero doubt that he's doing everything he can to convince him he's capable of playing and that he wants to play.

I have had a bad back for a bout 5 years now. I can certainly understand how it affects everything you do. Just brushing your teeth can be difficult.

I already knew he was one tough sucker. But after the Commanders game he gained a lot more respect from me. He is also a genuinely decent guy and the type of person that we should all really enjoy cheering on. It's too bad that the major sports networks have filled so many heads with their negative propaganda. Now he will always be viewed as a failure and a tragic figure. He honestly deserves much better.

If that game winning pass to Demarco Murray turns out to be the last pass that he ever throws in an NFL game (which quite honestly remains a possibility), then his career still has to be considered a major success. To make this snake-bit, badly run franchise relevant is a major accomplishment in itself.

I for one hope that we have not seen the last of Tony Romo

Romo isn't playing so I hope we lose. We don't need the controversy. ;)

Let me get this straight....you actually think Romo does not want to play?

I bet he wants to play this game more than any in his entire life.
The league would be crazy to allow it though. A herniated disc is very serious business.

Oh no, he wants to play but he is just hurt too bad. I just feel like he is hurt too bad to even try to "do all he can" to play. It's already been decided he isn't playing IMO. Jerry and Jason are just trying to throw Philly off, which isn't working.

I think that if it were solely up to him, he'd be playing, no matter how bad the injury is.

How Romo has shown the ability to play with various injuries should show people that it is not just about the money to him it is about winning. No one could have blamed him after getting broken ribs and punctured lung had he sat out the rest of the 9ers game as well games afterwards and now the disk injury playing through it to help beat Washington and is doing all he can to get himself ready for Philly. This is not a man looking to just get a pay check this is a man who puts himself on the line to win.
