Don't look for Cowboys to use No. 4 pick on UCLA LB Myles Jack

If you were holding out hope that UCLA linebacker Myles Jack was going to be the Cowboys' fourth overall pick, it's probably time to move on.

Jack, who has not been one of Dallas' 30 pre-draft visitors, had his medical recheck Thursday in Indianapolis.

According to NFLDraftScout and CBS Sports draft analyst Dane Brugler, the rechecks on Jack's surgically-repaired knee "did not go well for several teams."

At this point, the Cowboys don't appear to be interested in spending the fourth overall pick on him. But because of Jack's talent and potential upside, it's likely that a team will still take him somewhere within the top 15.

Jack told ESPN's Stephania Bell that his re-check went great, adding: "No one had any concerns."

Crazy that this is all stemming from a non contact meniscus tear. I know the meniscus isn't an injury to sneeze at, but typically if you're going to tear something in your knee the meniscus definitely isn't the worst option.

If it's not the worst, it's pretty damn close to being the worst.

Torn meniscuses lead to arthritis, potential bone on bone knee problems and possibly microfracture surgery as a final solution. Chances are, if the knee is indeed not "whole" as the meniscus is concerned, it doesn't bode well for a long career.

I thought we were done drafting players with injury concerns. I thought I read that our scouting director stays away from those players.

I doubt they take Jack after losing Fowler so early last year

Does not matter, they absolutely love Jack and know about his knee issues, some teams are not worried.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have already brought Myles Jack to the First Coast for a pre-draft visit.

Now, they're seeing Jack on his turf.

Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley and general manager Dave Caldwell are on their way to Los Angeles Saturday morning to meet with the former UCLA star, according to NFL Network's Jeff Darlington. The trip comes directly on the heels of Jack's medical recheck in Indianapolis for an injured knee. The recheck drew mixed reviews, depending on the team, according to NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport.

It's difficult to imagine, given the visit, that the Jaguars are among the teams with concerns about Jack's knee. It's not difficult, however, to imagine the club making Jack the No. 5 overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft. NFL Media analyst Chad Reuter projects the Jaguars to do just that on April 28 in Chicago, where the three-day draft begins with first-round selections

Jack as a player is fantastic, the issue was and is the knee and whether a particular team and their medical staff view it as problematic considering the April recheck.

The Cowboys have not shown interest publically at least in Jack and Broaddus has indicated that they were a team worried about that knee, so obviously it follows that you can probably count Jack out of consideration @4.

Don't want any part of him. Eight months removed from a meniscus problem and still won't run a 40.

Anyone can look good doing weights and jumping, it's quick cutting and sudden changes of direction and speed that worry me.

If you cant run a 40 after 8 months of rehab on a torn meniscus...........not good.

No way I even think about drafting him in the top 5.

Honestly...did people believe he was really in the mix for the Cowboys at #4? I'm surprised.
