Don't look now, but Parcells will give Romo a conservative game plan

Parcells has seen the hoopla surrounding Romo.
The last thing he wants is an overconfident Romo.
He doesn't want a passing and scrambling Romo, either.
So Parcells will tell Romo that JJ and Barber will pound it up the middle and Witten and Fasano will get the occasional lob.

Parcells, in typical Alpha male fashion, will give Romo a conservative game plan. But not a bad one. JJ and Barber pounding the middle with Witten getting the 15-yarders.
Romo won't be passing long until the 2nd half. But then he will be warmed up and will catch on fire.

Oh, yeah. Cowboys will stampede over the lowly Skins, bay-bee!

He will keep him on leash but he won't game plan his strengths out of the game

As I see it, Parcells won't let Romo be Romo until the second half when the rookie is acclimated. Then watch out, dudes!:starspin

Agressive gun slinging ROMO will check out of BP conservative call after looking over the weak DEADSKIN Defense!

The early "experts" are predicting a close game with Washington covering the spread. We'll see.

Yep, and a conservative GP also helps protect Romo's health, remember we are one bad hit away from Bledsoe returning.:eekmouse:
If the ground game is working...pound em.

A conservative game plan isn't bad if the offense executes it well.

No. Not until he proves he needs to be reined in. It's the Romo Show until he proves he can't handle it. Which is exactly why I think we've been secretely sitting on this guy for so long, he wasn't to emerge until he was truly ready. The Henson's, The Testeverde's, The Bledsoes, of the Cowboy World, they were all decoys to mask what we were really doing with this kid behind the scenes. He is starter because he is ready both mentally and physically. Don't think that at this point we'll start undoing what we've already done. Romo is here to take us to a Super Bowl...THIS YEAR!

Exactly! And it keeps Romo healthy while he gets used to the pressure, etc.

Just don't bring him along to quickly as a gunslinger. Patience is a virture.

Come on, coaches prepare game plans based on the opponent as well as the QB. It would be stupid to have Romo slinging the ball all over the field against an inferior team. The Skins are better than the Texans, but the same basic idea will apply - we should win if we don't give up big plays or turn the ball over. If the game plan is conservative, which I expect it may be to some degree, that will be the reason.

It would be foolish not to pass against the Skins. They're ranked 31 out of 32 against the pass, currently. Their run defense, by contrast, is at least ranked 17th.

We came out throwing against a MUCH better defensive front 7 in Romo's first game. Why would he reign it in against a weaker pass rush in Tony's 2nd? Just to control his ego?

We may very well come out running and maybe we should, given the Skins LBs have played like doo doo all year and Marshall is not 100%. But if we do its because that's the best game plan, not because Bill is worried about 'overconfidence'

Wright and Rumph have a lot to do with that. The Skins at least get their two top corners on the field this week at the same time.

The Titans ran roughshod over the Skins a couple of weeks ago. Everyone in the stadium knew the runs were coming and they simply couldn't stop it. And its not like Tenn is some rushing juggernaugt.

We'll probably stay pretty close to what we have been all season - balanced.

Sounds good to me. Whatever works. Once we lull them to sleep, it'll be The Terrible Two - Terrell and Terry Terrorizing the Skins and their faithful.

Not forgo the pass, just start with the ground game and dump-offs to fasano and witten.
And not for the whole game. I just think Parcells would approach this game differently. And yes, I bet Parcells is worried about Romo being overconfident and wants him to get his feet wet further before he starts slinging it.
The second half, i believe, will see Romo going deeper.
But we shall see.
And we can throw out everything about the "weak" Skins.
EVERYBODY saves their best game for the 'Boys. You can be sure their entire D will be going after this rookie player.

 The whole D going after Fasano? That should open up some things for TO, Glenn and Witten.

Indeed. It would be a lousy coaching job to not exploit (or at least attempt to exploit) the Commanders pass defense.
