Elliott is ranked 8th in the NFL in rushing yards and only two running backs have more touchdowns than him (each with 3).

People are using one bad game and a couple bad snaps to try to prove their point that this kid shouldn't have been drafted 4th overall while ignoring what is going on with Bosa and Ramsey. This was still the correct pick and I think we saw a much better game out of him last week despite the fumbles.

Some want to make Morris the starter (they've wanted this since training camp to push their agenda not help the team). But his numbers are certainly not demonstrably better than Elliotts.

Does he need to run better? Absolutely. I will also say the line needs to block better. I will also say Dak needs to take shots further down the field to keep defenses honest.

I would ask that people put their agendas in their pockets til week 9.

Thanks

Wait he's ranked #8???????

I guess NFL teams don't run anymore holy cow
He's pacing over 1,000 and, eventually, that YPA is going to go up. NFL teams don't run but they also don't have workhorse backs.

Once Romo gets back

If that happens. They have to at least be considering giving Dak the starting job, especially if he starts throwing TDs. Despite whatever was said.

This is a fan message board. Knee jerk reactions are the norm. Three year rule should always apply.

For most positions I agree but not RB they should not need that long and their lifespan is the shortest of any position.

Hee going to explode this year. This is how he started at Ohio state according to urban Meyer. It will get slower, he will get in sync with the line and bam here we go

He's also pacing at 3.3 YPA, which is horrible and ranked 33rd behind arguably the best line in the league. If you give a guy the ball a couple dozen more times than anyone else, he's going to get more yards.

If you guys could just stop declaring his greatness with every other breath, maybe there wouldn't be such a backlash when he messes up?

I think by the chicago game it will start to click. Practicing with the line and learning the patience and subtle nuances of running the ball in the NFL week in and week out, he will get it faster then most here think.

Lol, 10,000+

Making projections, whether good or bad, based off of just two games worth of data is pure comedy relief, but some are impressed by such things.

We need better blocking out of the TE's.

But, as a rookie EE should be the backup against the Bears. It sends the right message to a young player that we can't afford to put the ball on the turf.

As far as Morris' numbers go...he ran the ball much better than EE in the Giants game. He didn't really get any opportunities in the Skins game. He had 1 run on a gadget play (fake dive, HB toss), if that is read by the defense, you're screwed. He had the goal line TD where he would have broke it for a lot of yards, but he only needs a few yards to go to get the TD. And he got 2 other carries when we were running out the clock and the skins lined 10 in the box.

Plus, Morris may very well be like DMC...a RB that needs to get some carries to get into a rhythm.

I don't think EE was worth the #4 overall pick because he's a RB. But, I am not totally down on him either. I just think it's ridiculous that people are excusing his 2 fumbles. I don't know of any other tailback that would get that leeway.

He hasn't been very productive. A lot of that is on the line.

It's more on the defensive fronts he's facing. They wouldn't do that against Romo. Soon, I'll bet they stop doing it to Dak, too.

Dak isn't ready yet to change protections or audible to entirely different plays that aren't pre-determined audibles. That just takes time, sometimes years, to perfect.

NFL RB's were horrible week 1.. Only 2 100 yard rushers.

This stat is too early.. It's like when we had the #1 offense in the league with Quincy Carter whenever Parcells got here.

Early prediction, if Zeke goes 18 carries for 34 yards against the Bears, irvin88_4life will breakdown the numbers absurdly until they fit the narrative he wants: "Yeah, he only got 34 yards, but he averaged a whopping 5.2 YPC on his first two carries of the first five minutes of the 2nd QTR!!!"

The problem is that this is all based on volume, not efficiency. He's not doing anything most RBs wouldn't also do if given the touches. He's essentially been Darren McFadden.

You're right that it would be silly to judge him based on 2 games. At the same time, it's also silly to move the goal posts. We didn't draft him to be solid. We drafted him to be an impact, game changing player day 1.

As for Ramsey, he's been playing great for a rookie DB.

Not good enough behind this line we should be #1. Morris should be starting, as this Elliot is just too raw and he looks like he is running in mud.
