its like we rely on the TE's to run the short and middle of the field routes, our outside wr's mainly run outside the numbers routes. Our slot wr will run across the middle sometimes but they run out breaking routes alot too. Watch the games. Rarely do our outside wr's run in breaking routes. IDK why.

Yup.....Agreed

No way I give him "elite" $$$. Just disappears for too long of stretches. Sadly...Jerry is gonna cave because he's gotta sell tickets. Who's gonna be Jerry next big sell job? Romo??? Ha....That boat has sailed.

Jerry is not caving, when you negotiate parties give. NEGOTIATE

So you want to make him one of the highest paid receivers in the league and barely use him?

Having Dez Bryant in this passing scheme is like buying an expensive car, looking at in your garage, and hardly ever driving it.

i get your point but if jerry pays him you and i both know that jerry will make sure he's getting a return on that investment. he will make the coaches get him more involved.

I get what you're saying but we weren't saying this last week. The offense as a whole failed today, but the defense had them down bad and early

Dez is probably my first or 2nd favorite player on this team but I just think with how our scheme is built and how we don't do anything creative to get players involved in the offense that we should just let him walk and spend all of that money elsewhere.

Can you imagine paying this guy what 11-14 mill a year and just allowing teams to let him disapear and not getting the ball to one of the best open field runners in the game?

If our scheme were to be fixed and we could actually get him the ball on bubble screens, drags, slants, and ect then I'd love to keep him.

If not then just go sign some solid Vincent Jackson type of receiver and let him do the same thing for less. We'll take a hit in talent but we'll have more money to help other positions that actually matter in these crap schemes.

I agree. I sound like a broken record this year but Dez just doesn't have enough speed. It probably because he is so big but in this league its really about running good routes and having enough speed for separation. I have counted 4-5 times this year an opposing CB has shut him down. How could Dallas justify a $30 guaranteed contract for player who gets shut out in half the games he plays. And this isn't just about Dez...its the whole team who lacks team speed. The difference in team speed between Eagles and Dallas was extraordinary.

Dez would look a lot better if opposing corners weren't allowed to mug him all game. Every now and then he gets the call but he usually doesn't. Every corner in the league now knows they're allowed to pull, push, wrap up and ride the back of Dez Bryant and 9 times out of 10 they won't get called for it. I wish Dez could win these battles anyway but apparently he can't. To be honest, under the circumstances he has performed pretty well.

I'm on the fence on Dez. Very talented but he can frustrate you to death with drops and just not being able to get separation at times. It could be a schematic issue, which is very possible given our coaches. We don't mix it up with him. Way too predictable.

Um what games are you watching? The ones I keep watch have dez running open waiting on balls to get there or back shoulder routes thrown in front and dez fighting for every yard cause he has no idea if a ball will be in his hands again. I'm no romo basher but between them Dez is the better talent and can make whatever average qb we get after romo look better.

Love Dez, but he's no Michael Irvin. Then again, Romo's no Aikman.

Teams knew Irvin was going to get the ball, yet they could do nothing to stop it. Teams know we need to get Dez more involved in the offense, yet we don't adjust our game plan to get him the ball. Not dogging on Romo and Dez but they just don't have the chemistry or trust Aikman and Irvin did.....

Cowboys fans are the most Emo fans in the NFL . One week ROMO's a future hall of famer . The next week he is a bum . As is every other Cowboy player. Most of us picked 8-8 or worse before the start of the season. We're 8-4 with everything still to play for . Shut up , be a man , and quit crying.

I'm with OP and I have been all along.

We don't need a superstar WR to make it to the Super Bowl. We need 3 good receivers much like the Giants had a few years ago.

Take Dez's money, and give it to three guys comparable to Cruz, Nicks, and Manningham. Neither one of those 3 were a top 10 receiver in the league at any point in their careers but they were all good enough to compensate for the other.

I would like to see Dallas with more balance when it comes to their receiving corps. Get it to the open guy and forget about the superstar. The Skins did it with Monk, Clark and Sanders (although I realize they were much better than the Giants corps), Seattle did it with Tate, Kearse and Baldwin, Ravens did it with Boldin, Smith, and ???

Use the money to get better on the defensive line and get a good GROUP of receivers rather than relying on one guy to do it all.

I love Witten, but he's clearly on the decline. I really want to see a team that plays good defense, has a game manager QB, a stout running game, and reliable receivers who do their jobs. It seems to be the formula as of late for success.

Release Ware, he cost too much.
Oh dang, we have no pass rush, the QB is standing around all day.

Release Dez,
Oh dang, no one is open, our offense sucks.

Our fans are empty upstairs sometimes.

Dez had the ball under thrown to him at least 3 times yesterday. 3 chances for pretty big plays and Romo completely under threw the ball, something that we have seen before.
