Dez had the ball under thrown to him at least 3 times yesterday. 3 chances for pretty big plays and Romo completely under threw the ball, something that we have seen before.

Maybe having only 3 days recovery time for his back wasn't enough, plus the mugging Dez's gets every week is amazing

I agree.

Also the fact that we ran the ball so much more than we passed it at the start of the game even thiugh we were getting nowhere with it made it very hard to get into any type of rythym.

I dont have any stats to back this up but i would get that yesterday was the least amount of passes we have thrown in the first half of a Tony Romo game.

I thiught we had a 7th round rookie playig qb the way they seemed to be protecting him and forcing the run.

Cary Williams and Bradley Fletcher. Nobody thinks they're good. Ravens fans are STILL laughing at the Eagles for signing Williams. Those dudes clowned Dez. It doesn't add up at all.

When a rookie (Commanders game) can blanket you and hold you to a couple of catches, that is not an elite WR

Add in his back issues and route running limitations and we should not pay him top dollar

But jerry the moron will

I don't know. I have seen Dez outrun Romos arm too many times for my liking to be honest.

So you want to make him one of the highest paid receivers in the league and barely use him?

Having Dez Bryant in this passing scheme is like buying an expensive car, looking at in your garage, and hardly ever driving it.

Dez Bryant. The only 90 catch, 1200 yards, 12 TD receiver who's barely used.

Polly, want a cracker?

If all we're going to ask Dez to run are stop-and-go routes and back shoulder fades...look, NFL CBs pick up on tendencies and this makes it very easy to defend no matter the caliber of WR. They have to expand the route options and formations.

He doesn't command double teams anymore, if he did, at least Williams might produce again.

Dont get me wrong.. Dez is worth the money. He's worth every penny. Just not for a team that doesn't know how to get their money's worth.

At first I laughed at your thread but after reading this, I get where you're coming from. this is JG's MO, players fit his scheme and not the other way around. it's wrong even with the success of this year...I had no idea we would get this many wins this year.

Doesn't matter what we think. Jerry is going to pay Dez the money. No doubt about it.

Dez's problem is he's on the Cowboys. Not only does he suffer from coaching problems where they cannot utilize him in space effectively, the other team can hold his arms down while he's going up to catch a ball and not get called for an obvious pass interference while the commentators can say idiotic things like 'it looks like the refs are letting the teams play'. Yeah, because that rationalization makes about as much sense as "but judge, the officer should have just let me drive" after being pulled over for going 25 mph over the speed limit.

An elite QB doesn't need a Dez to win championships.

My concern is Romo is slowly regressing, due to injuries, away from the point where it doesn't really matter who he's throwing to.

I think we need Dez because Romo will need to rely on him in his twilight years here and we'll also need Dez, in the last couple years of his next contract, to help bring along the next QB

How is he barley uses he's currently 2nd in the NFL in TDS and is in the top 5 in almost all wide out categories. Nice try of throwing crud to the wall

He's also played an extra game. What categories is he top 5? Certainly, not any that matter, other than TDs. Receptions? Nope. YPC? Nope. Yards? Nope.

Now I want to keep Dez, think he is worth close to top money. However, we need to bring in coaches that can do a better job exploiting the other teams weaknesses. We read about an opposing teams corner, weak linebacker in coverage etc, and it seems like we never challenge them. Like we run the same game plan no matter what.

Dez..needs the ball in space more,,,most of the passes in this offense are slow to develop.....I love the running game, but there are times when we need to use the no huddle..speed it up...

Absolutely agree here. Many passing plays take too long to develop, imo. Tony doesnt have the arm anymore, but certainly still has the accuracy for quick hitters...

Dez needs a contract here, no doubt about it. He's an elite player. Cows will regret it if they let him walk. Murray on the other hand....

Dez is probably my first or 2nd favorite player on this team but I just think with how our scheme is built and how we don't do anything creative to get players involved in the offense that we should just let him walk and spend all of that money elsewhere.

Can you imagine paying this guy what 11-14 mill a year and just allowing teams to let him disapear and not getting the ball to one of the best open field runners in the game?

If our scheme were to be fixed and we could actually get him the ball on bubble screens, drags, slants, and ect then I'd love to keep him.

If not then just go sign some solid Vincent Jackson type of receiver and let him do the same thing for less. We'll take a hit in talent but we'll have more money to help other positions that actually matter in these crap schemes.

Dez is under-utilized but he still wins games for us and he also seems to be moving into a team leader mode. I would prefer to keep him and change our schemes, even if that requires jettisoning a few coaches (what else is new?).

Release Ware, he cost too much.
Oh dang, we have no pass rush, the QB is standing around all day.

Release Dez,
Oh dang, no one is open, our offense sucks.

Our fans are empty upstairs sometimes.

Lol when is Dez ever wide open?
