Honestly, can all of us really call this bunk?

Hasn't Jerry reached before? I distinctly recall someone on another board (years before this one) giving us news right before the draft that JJ and CO were greatly interested in QC. We all pooh-poohed him off the board.

Sure enough......JJ does the unthinkable.

I hope Jerry has learned his lesson......but he's done too many crazy things in the past for us to ignore this totally.

I thought he'd never again pay a king's ransom in draft choices for a WR. Yet, he did it again this last year.

I've been pleased with our drafts lately. Not all of them turn out....but it seems like we've stuck to our board and not reached.

Hopefully, this move seems as ridiculous to JJ as it does to us.....but I wouldn't put anything past him.

Ever.

He gave up 2 1st rd picks for Williams? I don't think we gave a kings ransom ala Galloway to get RW.

Lol.

If we do, I stop being a fan of the most ******** football team ever. Because that's what any team turns into if they draft Pat White in the 2nd. Sorry, but I give my 'boys more credit then that. It will never happen.

Taken from one of the better mock draft sites....Scott Wrights NFL draft countdown........

51 DALLAS COWBOYS: PAT WHITE, QB/WR, WEST VIRGINIA

Can be groomed as the #3 quarterback while contributing as a wideout / return man.

What team would be dumb enough to use their first pick in the draft on a #3 QB that would take years to learn how to play another position?

Basically, you'd be absolutely certain of getting nothing from him for years. And maybe never, unless he learns to play WR.

This isn't the Jerry of 2001.

A first and a third, to me, is a lot to pay.

I hope this doesn't happen. I'd be physically ill if it did.

But sometimes it seems JJ defies logic.

Let me explain....Im certainly NOT trying to be a jerk, or cocky. But I have in fact nailed the last 8 drafts in a row. Can I prove it? Yeah probably, but WHY, I dont care enuff to put THAT much effort into it, either you believe me or you dont. Simple as that...:) Anyway, thats why I have some confidence in who I believe Valley Ranch will be selecting. Pretty good track record, heck....anyone would be confident. Having said that I certainly could be WRONG. The draft is no easy task to figure, drafting mid second makes it all the harder. Anyway, I have my reasons for thinking the pick will be White, which I'll keep to myself. Didnt mean to ruffle any feathers, and im surely not here picketing to draft him, just saying.....dont be shocked if it indeed does happen........

If RW works out then I don't think that is all that high of a price. Getting Galloway on the other hand cost us 2 1st rd picks that was excessively high

When you put a statement like that out there, you're on the clock to prove it, with real links. Just sayin'...

For the record,.....I could also see us trading DOWN into the bottom of the 2nd and picking White there. Then taking the extra pick wegained and using it for more manuvering later. We already have a ton of picks. Make book that we are going to be VERY active when it comes to trading on draft day...

.......Wrong. I dont have to prove ANYTHING to ANYBODY...:)Folks can either believe me or not. They wanna say im making it up, thats fine too. As Ive said, I dont care enuff to take the time to PROVE things. And like I said earlier, I could in fact be wrong. I dont think so, but I could be. :lmao2:

Please tell. I am intrigued.
BTW, don't think anyone is flabbergasted at you, they just don't think Jones would reach for that position considering the other needs and talents that would be available. I would like to know what your reasons are though.

That is something I can agree with.
I think overall for the league, there will be a lot of movement this year and some very big name draft day trades.
Can't wait.

Pat White won't be drafted in the 2nd round unless someone is fool enough to think he can play QB in the NFL.

If you want a WR/KR, you don't select a guy who's never done either in the 2nd round to develop.

If you want a 3rd string developmental QB, you don't try to make him that while also learning to play WR and return kicks.

The entire scenerio is ridiculous.

1. They would never try to get QB, WR, and KR out of anyone, not even a 7th round pick.

2. If by some stroke of lunacy they select Pat White at any spot in this draft, they'll give him one position, not 3, and hope he can make the team at that position.

..........I dont think anyone is flabbergasted at all. In fact, I can understand perfectly well how folks would think its a bad pick considering other areas of the team that need to be addressed. Like I said all along, if it does happen, it certainly ISNT because I want it to, im just a fan with ZERO control over the team.

But what has lead you to believe that this player will be the player selected? Do you have some concrete insight or are you making an educated calculation based on what has been said and the interest level for White?

TALENT BOARD ROUND 1

I don't know what round Pat will be drafted in, but I do know that the team that drafts him will fall in love with this kid's talent and football intelligence. He should be an excellent special teams player the day after you draft him. There will be a bit of a learning curve as a WR, but believe me, it will not be that long. Pat has the potential to be a #1 WR. He reminds me a lot of Marvin Harrison (WR Indianapolis Colts). He has that same type of speed and quickness to go along with the football intelligence that Marvin shows on the field week after week. Pat might be a bit stronger and bigger than Marvin and, although Pat has not played much at the WR position in college, I believe it will be very easy for him to change positions at the next level because of his intelligence. Pat White has passion when he plays football and leaves it all out on the field. I'm sure on most boards -- because Pat is going to have to change positions -- he will be rated lower than I suggest, but remember this: if your favorite team drafts Pat in any round, they will have drafted an impact special teams player who will turn into a franchise WR sooner than you think.

Just thought I'd throw this out there to liven the debate . . . . :laugh1:
