Why would we draft Pat White?

Would anyone even mention his name if Jerry hadn't thrown out that earlier Wildcat comment?

I think JJ mentioned his name.

Not sure who in the organization, but his name did come out. And I remember I was worried we'd use our 2nd rounder on him.

Let me explain....Im certainly NOT trying to be a jerk, or cocky. But I have in fact nailed the last 8 drafts in a row. Can I prove it? Yeah probably, but WHY, I dont care enuff to put THAT much effort into it, either you believe me or you dont. Simple as that... Anyway, thats why I have some confidence in who I believe Valley Ranch will be selecting. Pretty good track record, heck....anyone would be confident. Having said that I certainly could be WRONG. The draft is no easy task to figure, drafting mid second makes it all the harder. Anyway, I have my reasons for thinking the pick will be White, which I'll keep to myself. Didnt mean to ruffle any feathers, and im surely not here picketing to draft him, just saying.....dont be shocked if it indeed does happen........

Not necessarily calling you a liar just that you might be stretching it a little.

The three points I'd make is this

1. I'm not sure how much P White wants to be a WR. For example, at his Pro Day, he didn't even run routes, and several scouts were pretty peeved that he didn't. I'm not saying that P White doesn't want to be a WR, but I haven't read anything indicating that he is looking forward to making the move.

2. I wouldn't be surprised if we drafted P White. JJ has already mentioned the Wildcat enough times this off-season, and P White's name has surfaced. That said, I was thinking that he could be had with our 3rd rounder, unless there is really strong demand for him from other teams.

3. The other reason why I woudn't be shocked if we drafted White is that we could potentially save a roster spot, or two. I just think it more likely that we draft him with 69 rather than 51, if we go that direction.

I can however see the Cowboys not drafting White if Sean Smith somehow falls into the top of the 2nd or so. That happens and Jerry will trade up to nab him. Now that move I could get behind.

So it's just as valid for me to say you didn't. After all, you didn't say if you hit the 'Boys picks, the first pick in each of the last 8 drafts (not nearly as difficult), the top pick for every team in the last draft (or 8, or any other number).

I don't know . . . . S Smith seems to want to play/focus on CB. I think the Cowboys would want to use him at potentially both CB and S.

That said, S Smith is definitely preferable to P White in Rd 2!

But I have also stayed polite and havent insulted anyone to my knowledge. You must however realize that you TOO, have set yourself up, IF we in fact do draft White....

seriously, that'd be a horrible move. QB will be addressed in the 2011 draft when Dallas takes UTEP's Trevor Vittatoe to be the future of the franchise.
