Don't get the Morris hate but I'm an admitted Homer and will be pulling for the best man to win the job.

Not hate at all but he's a poor fit. He needs touches to be effective and barring injury he will never get them here. Add in that he doesn't play special teams and it's hard to justify keeping him on the 53.

I could easily see Thomas make the 53. Morris is going to be our #3 back and is not a good receiver or a special teamer. Thomas is a very good receiver and kick returner.

Depends on whether we trust McFadden to stay healthy. We may value having Morris as the third back just in case rather than having a specialty back on the roster.

He's a pretty special RB that is the ideal backup for Elliot. McFadden is the wildcard here but his health is always up in the air.

Hope you're right. CLE drafted a scatback in the 7th round. So DJax likely only makes the team if they carry 3 HBs. Would like to see him back, so we can cut Morris.

I hope he's cut before camp lol so we can pick him up.

I was surprised they didn't use a draft pick on this guy. They were probably excited to get him singed. He was a player they met with pre draft. Looks like a good third down option to me.

I think on the pro's he has great vision, quickness, hands and balance
Negatives, a puff of wind will knock him down and Morris is much faster then he is and that ain't saying much.

I think Jahad is a weapon akin to James White. He has a special skill set and vision that cant be measured. His runs pop off the screen. Does he have the measurables to be a feature back no , but thats not what we are talking about here.

Its all about mismatches thats what WR coach said he was looking for. He said He wanted self starters guys that can come in for 5 plays and cause some mismatches when he was commenting on Switzer. I believe that rings true across the roster

runs look nice.
numbers are horrible 192lb with 4.68sec 40 compared to switzer at 4.51
cone and shuttle numbers much worst than switzer who is also plenty nifty

I was an early fan, until this. Love his quickness and think he can do some things that Switzer can't...

But... as I read up on him, it turns out he ran a disappointing 4.62 at the combine, then said his ankle wasn't good and that he'd do much better at the Temple pro day. Well, it was literally bad to even a little worse.

Who knows. Maybe he can shave some time off of that and be useful, but I'm not nearly as enthusiastic as I was when I first found and posted that YouTube highlight clip.

In college, you get a lot of opportunities to touch the ball and make a difference in a game when you're the lead back, and you just never know what the competition level (including the defense's speed) unless you do some extra homework. In pros, obviously he won't get nearly as many opportunities to make a mark and that competition level will be largely made-up of players who are as fast as can be found.

Agreed. Or, at least, I don't rule that out, even though it appears many have been eager for him to be cut. He's not Zeke, and he's a singles and doubles hitter rather than someone capable of hitting the long ball like DMac... so he's just not sexy.

But he's been productive and, perhaps his big advantage, he's been reliable. I don't really see any legitimate challenger to his roster spot just yet. That can always change on a dime, of course, but there's no clear and present danger threatening him for now.

Not sure how you measure it maybe you add up a short shuttle with a forty and divide it by the wonderlic.
