No. If you've followed his career this isn't the first time...or second...or third..

SO DO YOU think he is really hurt? are you telling me the guy may not be hurt and he is just trying to get out of practicing?

I'm thinking he just has a history of it, and has been the best kicker in the regular season.

If he is faking it, or he just has a terrible off-season and just hurts it when he hits camp, I don't really care. It hasn't hurt him in the past and as long as it doesn't hurt him this season I'll be ok.

We know what Mike can do. Him being 100% is our greatest concern now. We need him 100% by opening day. In the meantime Sushiman can show us what he's got and get in those much needed reps.

...on his website says that he was witnessing Vandy push all his kicks to the right.

Like a golfer, Vandy is blocking his kicks right.

A good kick from your right leg pulls the ball right to left. That means your leg is following through strong and snapping your foot through the contact zone.

A excellent kick goes down the middle and that means you are in perfect balance.

Like a golf swing not every kick is perfectly balanced, but you still can hit the fairway/middle of the uprights. It just may be closer to the rough/upright pole than you would prefer.

If Vandy is blocking his kicks to the right a sore/stiff groin would be a plausible reason for his troubles.

Anyone who has ever had a groin injury would know that the pain from kicking would make it difficult at best.

A little more money, and we could have had Vanteri. About the same amount of money, we could have had Longwell. But no, we are not satisfied with one head case, we have to go out and get headcase number two.

Martin Gramatica had the same issues in Tampa Bay...once the MVP for the Bucs, as soon as he became injury prone he hit a wall.

For example, he just got waived by the Pats Wed or Thurs.

isnt vinateri out with a sore groin too?

No, it's his ankle, and it only happened two weeks ago, but he could go tomorrow if he was asked to. The HC is letting him rest.

Our kicker hasn't been kicking all preseason and pulled himself out of the game Monday.

What's REALLY weird about Vanderjagt is that he is a Cowboy and Adam Vinatieri isn't. That is just too weird for me to understand.

If I'm not mistaken, Vandy may have been our 3rd choice. Indy and where ever Longwell ended up (Minn)? just wouldn't let those guys leave w/out a contract so we had no shot at them. But I could be wrong.

he's a kicker, as long as he's healthy by the regular season, why care so much?

he doesn't need practice reps

 The people questioning Vanderjagt have obviously never had a groin injury. This is almost as dumb as people calling TO a cancer because he wants to rest a sore hammy.

Wouldn't let them leave? They forced them to sign under duress? Kidnapped them? That's illegal, right?

No, more like Vito Corleone. Made them offers they couldn't refuse. My understanding was we had scheduled visits but they had already signed contracts because the offers were so good they felt no need to check elsewhere. Kind of hard to make an offer to someone who already has a contract.

Sigh...

Indy made Vinateri an offer he could not refuse before he even got to see us. One of the stipulations of the offer the Colts made was that he had to sign it immediately.

Who's to say that Vinateri would even want to come over and play in the NFC when he could go to a dome with the team most likely to stick to the Pats?

If vinateri makes THE difference with Indy, he goes down in history. He's already somwaht credited for being the deciding factor in those NE SB, althoigh most would hate to give that credit to a kicker. If he were to put Indy over the top, there'd be one tough argument against it.

But some assume it was us penny pinching. "IF we'd only......."

please give it a rest.
