Dorance Armstrong excited about his future with Cowboys

Dorance wants a locker next to Parsons, he is currently ahead of Sam.
Armstrong
Williams
Gholston
Not so bad there when you look at the comp and depth that will be established.
We would all be shocked if Williams didnt get the starting gig.

I can't say that I see a reason to believe at this point in his career that he can be anything more than what he has been — a solid rotational player. I see him as a run-down edge defender who gives way to either Fowler or Williams in passing situations. He's not a bad player to have unless neither Fowler nor Williams is able to establish himself as a pass rusher.

I see Golston playing the 5-tech spot with his added weight. He may spend some time as an edge DE, but I don't think it will be much unless it's a situation like short yardage where we want to go bigger all the way across the front.

Fowler is just insurance and rest for Lawrence, but thats just my early speculation, a lot can change in camp.

And very well could bum Basham out, lots of looks for Quinn to decide on who he keeps.
Versatility will be critical for players like Basham, Golston, Fowler, Gifford, Harper.
All can find a role, but these are the prime examples of flexibility defines a role on this defense.

Personally I dont think Williams starts straight out of camp. Armstrong is good against the run and Williams is more of a pass rush specialists to start.

Will be significant viewing, and will be very interesting how that position plays out.
Im with you, I dont just hand out starting roles and Stars to any Rook.
That is what sets and establishes a culture, and why your 2nd and 3rd year players want to work their *** off.
I want that culture, and believe its finally being recognized.
I believe that Sam WIlliams is going to be very good, just go and earn it first rook, set that culture for achievement first.

I have seen nothing from this guy in college or pro that says NFL player. My .02. Wasted pick
Im not his agent, but want to see what he brings this camp.
He could be a poor mans Fowler on the other side.. lol
Way too early, just all speculation

I think especially in the beginning, he will be a pass rush specialist with a couple guys. Didnt armstrong play a lot on first down last year anyway when Gregory was here?

OT backup further than the rest of the linemen on passing downs. If a guy can hit that OT with some good force, he could easily knock him off balance. Osa played at DE some last year and looked pretty good on the edge.

You're too busy eyeballing the Cowboys you don't like, so you can make nasty comments about them instead of watching the games. So you never noticed Farniok playing pretty good at center when a lot of people did. You didn't notice Osa playing good on the edge when a lot of people did. You didn't notice Zeke gutting it out when a lot of people did. You're blinded by your own hate, so you really don't know as much as you think you do.

Watch the games instead of zooming in on the players you don't like.

Parsons is going to be moving around with 11 sets of eyes on him. Someone on that DL needs to beat some single man blocks.
Parsons at LDE and Tank next to him at DT worked pretty good last year. So like you said if we could get someone to come from that right side we be unstoppable on third and longs.
