Doug Free contract

Screw getting out Scott free. Somewhere Free forgot how to play or is having trouble transitioning with Cally from Houck.

Don't let this kid off the hook. He needs to man up.

"He must be injured."

"He just needs to move back to his natural postion of RT."

"He must be having a hard time making the transition from Houck to Callahan."

"Somewhere along the way he forgot how to play."

Just. Can't. Admit. They. Overrated. Him.

I hope the staff is holding him accountable for his poor play. Even to the point to where they would put someone else in if he doesn't improve.

Free was good in 2009 and 2010. that bears out by his performances and those of the DE he played those years.

His level of play has declined.

This is fairly obvious now.

Either his $7M base salary gets cut or he gets cut next year. I'm guessing he is benched in mid-season, cut in the off-season and hopefully signs with Philly:)

How long before Parnell replaces him? If Peppers gets lined up against Free this Monday night it's gonna get UGLY.

Free will be a budget cut next year. You have to plan, for a deficit that large and painful.

I would agree.

And while I know the stance will be unpopular, I think you have to look at the return on investment with Ratliff and his contract as well.

Add to that the futures of Spencer, Felix Jones, and Mike Jenkins and this team could have significant changes next season.

Who is going to replace him and play that much better? We are suck with this guy until next season. They need to help him with clip blocks and just doubling the man he is blocking if they are any good.Sucks but he will get Romo killed if they don't help Bears will be a big test for OL,hopefully it doesn't get ugly.

As it stands now I think you are going to have to utilize both the draft and free agency to shore up the offensive line in 2013.

Craig

I thought the same thing for the past three years, but for whatever reason they never do.

Well we can go after this season and pay big money for Ryan clady, brendon Albert, or Jake long and move smith to right tackle or go sign Gosder Childress or Loadholt and keep smith at LT. Any one know any other free agent OTs for after this season

this

thanx for the info

in hindsight it looks bad but most of us were on board with signing him at the time

wish our talent evaluators had a higher hitting % though

We didn't have a choice at the time.

Lets not forget to add Jason Witten to that group, and we might as well throw in Tony Romo, D Ware, Brandon Carr.. any other good players we want to just get rid of?

OH! Tyron Smith..

If that be your choice, have at it.

But, judging from the condescending rolleyes, I'm thinking that you'd prefer a country club where we 'take care of our guys' no matter how badly they underperform.

:grouphug:

Good to know.

Witten has looked like crap so far this year, made multiple mistakes, drops, penalties, you name it.. why didn't you include him?

Also, Jenkins played very well last year, even with him being injured most of the year, and did well his first game back this year too. So why is he on the "underperforming" list?
