Doug Free impressing

I've heard 2 reports today say Doug Free has been looking really good.

1 was from Big Juicy himself Nate Newton and the other was from former NFL scout Brian Broadus.

So everyone who couldn't wait to yell bust should hold off a little while.


I also heard Nate and Broadus both say Bigg Davis looks amazing right now but he doesn't look very impressive when they line him up at tackle.

They have been broadcasting from training camp.

I heard Nates Report on the Michael Irvin show which has been great ever since camp started.

I heard Broadus on GAC.

I also saw a written report the other day that said the Cowboys were wanting to get him on the field this year so they probably knew the progression he has made before anyone else had.

Great news if true. This is the area that I'm most concerned about this season.

Early on, yes.

But lately, I've read a lot of good things about Free.

Timmy Mac's logic runs like this: "If Free is a player then why practice L Davis at RT?"

That is the extent of his knowledge on Doug Free.

This would be the best thing I've heard all camp if true.

Our OL depth is woeful and it's basically malpractice on our GM's part for not doing more to upgrade a unit that was a weakness last year once Kosier was injured and is one injury away from being right back in the same situation.

I really hope Free turns out to be a player.

I hope to heck that free is lights out. We certainly need some backup 0-line.

But I do find it a bit strange that if Free truly is looking that good that its not showing up in the camp reports posted here. Not that any of these writers are the definitive eye but I'd certainly think it would register a blip.

I try not to get too excited or too depressed about any single report. Lets see stuff happen consistently.
