From what I have gathered Free has been having a relatively good training camp. But to get an accurate assessment of his abilities we need to do with him what we did with Romo: let him play entire pre-season games. Flo is an old warhorse so he doesn't really need that many reps in pre-season, and we need to see Free go up against first teamers and not just backups.

This is the year we really need to find out if Free is any kind of player, I sure hope he pans out.

I would like to see Free get a lot of playing time during the pre-season.

Just make sure it's when the 3rd and 4th string QB's are playing. No need to get Romo and Kitna killed.

Free does need to get alot of reps during preseason but it's also important for our starting OL to get their chemistry rolling as well. Our OL is key to our season. Regardless of Flo's age, he and the rest of that gang needs to get their timing down pat....

Our OL has been playing for a few years now. I don't think chemistry will be a problem.

I agree. I of course want the vets to get their time in together but Free if he is to be counted on needs to get as much time in pre-season as he can get

Of course they have but this is a new year. Chemisrty doesn't just carry over, it needs to be reestablished again for this year and that comes from practice and game time reps. I want Free to get the work too, he needs it but so do our starters on the OL as well.

Play him the whole first game. Lets see what he can do. The only way we are going to find out is to PLAY him.

Exactly. Sink or swim. Time to put up or shut up.

Hopefully the team takes a long, hard look at all of our offensive line depth this season.

As everyone knows, the starters are not getting any younger and as it stands now, an injury along the line could derail the whole season.

Regardless of what Free does, i agree with Big Nate. He was on 103.3 the other day and said the Boys need to draft a LT real high next year. No more of this 3rd, 4th, 5th round stuff. We need a top 50 kind of player.

Even if Free struggles some, the complete evaluation comes in the LAST preseason game, not the first.
