Doug Free or Ronald Leary?

If you only have money to resign one, who are you choosing?

Me personally, I sign Free for 2 years. You know he will give a hometown discount, and he wants to be here. He has proved he can still play at a very high level. He helps the running game immensely when he plays.

I understand Leary is younger. But he has a degenerative knee issue that could end his career at any time, and he was exposed a lot the last month of season. Defenses were attacking him, realizing he was the weak link on the line.

What you guys think?

It's my understanding that Leary is under contract, but I could be wrong. To answer your question, it would be Leary due to age. Free's backup at right tackle, Jermey Parnell, is an unrestricted free agent too.

If only one, I take a younger Leary. You mention his degenerative knee, but how many games has he missed due to that knee so far? It may never affect his career. Free, on the other hand, has his own injury issues.

Leary is a restricted free agent. He's going nowhere.

Neither, find a comparable FA. If had to choose, probably Leary but I think they can find better.

Honestly I think this line suffered without Free he was the glue that kept it together. I know a few others will disagree but it's pretty obvious they missed him.

From what I've seen Leary is an exclusive rights free agent. If that is correct all they have to do is tender him.

Not to bust any bubble but an upgrade at right tackle would take this offensive line to another level. Free is a finesse player who is weak at the point of attack.

Leary is the weak link on this offensive line, I'd look to replace him before I'd let Free walk who is the leader of this offensive line..

It should be less than 1m, somewhere around 600k. No brainer

If Free wants to sign for 2-3m fine, otherwise let him walk

Offensive line play went down significantly after Free's injury, and it wasn't just the RT play

Leary without a doubt! Our OL is already extremely young, and has nowhere to go, but UP! They'll be good for a longgggg time.

Leary is restricted which limits what he will get paid.

I would re-sign Parnell over Free.
