Well, it is difficult for rookie QBs to come in as a starter and be expected to have a rating better than 100 and TD-to-int. rating of 9-1. That just doesn't happen.
Wentz at 83.4 with 11 TDs and 8 interception is more the norm.
I had no expectations for him, DP, JG, CC, or PL. they are all rookies and there is no way to accurately predict any of their production to this point, especially at the beginning of the season.
I am just going by what has been done to this point.
Just an extra caveat, a coworker made some comments about this years's quarterbacks drafted that made sense to me. It's not verbatim because it was a long covo.
CW: small school (I think he won a championship?) unknown competetiton but likely weak
JG: qb at cal (pac10,) never ranked in the top 5 as far as I know. Came from mora's system with good competition
DP: bottom feeder SEC school, had miss. St ranked 1 (ahead for Alabama, cal, lsu, NDSU, etc) for a long period of time (half a year I believe?) the competition in the SEC is obvious.
PL: went to Memphis, other than leary coming from Memphis I don't know anything about that program or even what division they are in.
CC: Michigan state, big10 school. Good competition.
It's not debatable DP fell into a good situation but it also doesn't discount his readiness due to playing against higher end completion more often with a stint at being #1 in the nation.
