Oklahoma cornerback Aaron Colvin tore his ACL on January 21 during the week of practices leading up to the Senior Bowl. Colvin was considered by many to be a first or second round caliber talent before the injury. Once he went down, he popped on some of our radars as a potential red-shirt candidate for theSan Francisco 49ers.

Well, red shirt is looking like less of an option as each day passes. His surgeon, Dr. James Andrews, released this letter as Colvin nears the 3-month mark in the coming days.

I really started to like Colvin last year when doing some tape analysis. I think if we can snag this kid in the middle rounds we would be doing good.

I wouldn't mind seeing something like that for Easley...

I think his pro day was plenty. He may not be 100% yet but he didn't appear to have any limitations either. With 4 more months until he really needs to be 100% I think he will be just fine for week 1.

His performance solidified my expectations that he would end up being a second round pick. I really hope he is there for us in the second.

If we to trade down to somewhere between 28-32 again would you have a problem if Easley was the pick? I'm starting to think it wouldn't be a horrible idea if Donald, Barr, and Lewan are off of the board at 16.

I'm all for getting injured guys in the later rounds. A late-round pick isn't a guarantee anyway. Rather spend it on a 1st round talent. Not such a big fan of taking hurt guys early though (see Sean Lee).

Give me Colvin and Brandon Thomas in rounds 5-7.

I wouldn't hate it but I think I would rather draft Attoachu in that situation.

I would not take Colvin unless it was with one of the throwaway 7ths. It is too bad he messed up his knee, but I find it a little strange he actually is being regarded like a first round choice that just happened to get hurt. Even if healthy, I do not think he is among the top 5 CBs overall.

Yeah I like Attoachu a lot too. I'm really starting to wonder how big of gap there is between Donald and Barr vs Easley and Attoachu...all things even and 100% healthy of course. If we were alble to trade back a d land Attoachu and Easley + an extra 3rd to the d line Id actually feel pretty darn good going into the season.

That would be my draft plan. I wanna get this team into the sweet spot 22-32 and try to move up in the second.

I for one have had enough of the Cowboys taking on injured players. Smells of "a reach" to me. We wasted a 2nd on Carter who saw little time his first year and regressed badly last year. Lee is a good player, but his injury was also a sign of things to come. Signing Melton after coming of recent knee surgery has be concerned as well.
