I disagree and agree with him about equally most of the time. I like that he really looks at the games and also the charts. Going with just the one or the other is always wrong. I think he is giving Gurode and TO short shrift, but I love how he picks Newman and Ware and Witten. So overall I agree with him more then I disagree on his ALL PROs.

I've always liked Dr. Z. He may not get everything right (who does?), but at least he thinks for himself and really puts some effort and study into his picks, unlike most writers who just parrot the conventional wisdom and rely too much on popular perception and ESPN highlights.

Props to the guys who made it.

I loved his comment about Adams...we need him next year.

TACKLES (Flozell Adams, Jason Peters) I'd never picked Adams on my All-Pro team and I didn't plan to this year. I mean, his technique was just so sloppy. He kind of engulfs people. I wasn't even going to do a grading on him, along with the other lads. But then I was going through my DEs and the Giants' Osi Umenyiora flunked out, basically because of a pair of zeros against the Cowboys.
Now a zero in my system is very rare. It doesn't just mean no sack, it means no outstanding defensive play of any kind ... force against the pass or against the run, tackle near the line, even enough penetration to blow up a play. All those get a check mark of some kind. But Flozell held Osi to nothing. So I looked at him more closely, or rather, at his opponents.
Jason Taylor of Miami. Zero. Huh? I know he's been beaten up this year, but a zero for Jason? I'd never seen that. Roosevelt Colvin of the Patriots. Zero. Andre Carter of Washington. Zero. Schobel of Buffalo, a single force. Cole of Philly, who's a good active rusher, two tackles on running plays. I had found the rarest commodity of all, an offensive tackle, which are just so difficult to come by these days. And I didn't even do a grading on Flozell, his drive blocking, etc. Just the guys he faced.

I just wish he'd watch and grade guys from EVERY game (he said the average is seven or eight per team, and as few as four games for some), then publish his charts somehow. He might be a kook at times, but I'd trust his judgement a lot more than someone like K.C. Joyner, who is useful only because he has the means, time and desire to chart every game.

Beautiful write-up on Flozell. I've been trumpeting how absolutely dominant he's been this year (and he was close last year once he recovered, too). Nice to see a national media member take notice of the Neutralizer.

I just hope it's not a contract year thing. The fact that he's been getting better and better from last season to this kind of eases that concern.

Seemed very high on Witten, Newman and Adams.

Seemed like he didnt say much about Ware but giving him a all pro nod is a big thing still.
