I would love to have something for posterity. Can a moderator make a poll for me?

A) I approve of the trade down and drafting Frederick and Williams
B) I approve of the trade down, but would have drafted Elam or Cyprien
C) I disapprove of the trade down, and would have drafted Eric Reid at 18
D) I disapprove of the trade down, and would have drafted Shariff Floyd at 18

I'd like to look at this during the season and next years draft.

D. I wanted us to take the BPA and since that was Floyd according the Cowboys draft board, we should've just taken him. I do believe that the jury is still out on the trade. We needed an anchor up front and we got one in Frederick. Using the extra 3rd for a talented receiver like Williams was clearly a bonus. Time will tell. We might end up feeling we did the right thing.

How is he the BPA if we didn't think he fit in our 4-3?

If a guy doesn't fit what you do, there is no way he can be BPA

A all day, just because some mediot doesn't like our picks doesn't mean a damn thing to me. Frederick is mauler, Williams is a baller and this team got a heck of a lot better. I'm also a member of the Escobar fan club, loved the pick because had we not he would've went to San Francisco (like they need him).

D.

And anything else is just plain lunacy :abuseme:

This move is gonna haunt us just like the Randy Moss trade.

Jerry Jones trying to qualify the trade down as saying Floyd is a NT is just asinine.

If that was the case.....then why did the Vikings take him that run nothing but a 4-3 Defense?????

Frederick and Williams are better for this team any DLinmen in the Draft.

At 74 Terrance Williams may have been the best value pick of the entire NFL Draft.

Put me down for D assuming Floyd was indeed the seventh rated player on the board. I don't nessecarily buy he wouldn't fit a 4-3 and besides you should fit your scheme to your players not the other way around.

According to Garrett Frederick was the highest rated player on the board when we took him. The problem is I just don't trust the Cowboys scouts evaluations of olinemen. We have seen several picks where they bucked the conventional wisdom on a lineman (Brewster and Martin come to mind) and both those guys were horrendous busts. There's a ton of evidence out there that suggests that teams around the league did not view Frederick as a first rounder. I am forced to conclude that Frederick was not a good value at 31.

I did however really like the Williams pick given that we did trade down. Hard to believe someone with his measurables and production was even available in the third.

Actually, BPA doesn't necessarily fill an immediate need. He was ranked higher than anybody left on their board, but the more I think about Frederick and Williams, the more I like the move.

A.

I at first thought it was nuts, but after watching vids and seeing who they got with the two picks, I think it was an excellent move.
