A all day.

 even though they admitted they drafted Frederick out of need and he was not BPA?

I'll sit back and watch you try to spin this

I would have liked to get more from SF

But I am ok with who we ended up with so I will go A

I am hoping Frederick can solve many of our interior problems and Williams gives us speed and the ability to get rid of Austin next year

Of course if Frederick bombs and Floyd is a probowler, we will all be sick

D, because we would have gotten Frederick later. ALL Centers are still available. If not Frederick we would have gotten Schwenke instead. And Floyd would have filled a need at DT. But I am fine that we got Williams out of that trade. Oh well, go Cowboys.

Frederick and Williams >>>>>>>>>>>> any other pick at 18

Getting Williams certainly made this trade look a lot better for me. I like Frederick and will come to terms with my own personal hang-ups about when he was drafted.

A - I am pretty happy with what they got. We desperately needed a center and more speed on the outside.

A.1) I approve of the trade down and drafting Frederick and Williams, but we should have gotten more for trading down.

I have nothing against the pick but the trade was horrendous and looking at the draft board right now i'd say there's a really good chance we could have gotten Fredricks in the 2nd so we essentially wasted a 1st round pick.

I like the player just not what we gave up for him

I don't think they got the the OL they preferred but they got the best interior OL they could. They were afraid to wait with the way they were coming off the board. IF they knew they would get Frederick at 47 then maybe they take another player at 18. The question is who. I'm very happy with Escobar and Williams as well. Replace Frederick with one of the two guards and you have quite a draft so far. Well have to settle for Frederick though.

If we pick up an OT RB CB today we have done well. There are three OTs I'd like to choose from.

Leaning towards A) now because I like Frederick and T-Will, but still feel we should have received more from the trade down. The trade value doesn't add up.

You're forgetting we got an extra pick. Williams plus Frederick beats any player at 18.

Thing is there's not really a huge gap between Fredricks and the #2 rated OC in the draft who's still up for grabs going into the 4th so i honestly think we could have gone a different direction in the 1st and still had Fredricks

I would love to have something for posterity. Can a moderator make a poll for me?

A) I approve of the trade down and drafting Frederick and Williams
B) I approve of the trade down, but would have drafted Elam or Cyprien
C) I disapprove of the trade down, and would have drafted Eric Reid at 18
D) I disapprove of the trade down, and would have drafted Shariff Floyd at 18

I'd like to look at this during the season and next years draft.

Day 1 of this draft left me scratching my head... Round 2 confused me even more... After Round 3 things seem to be falling into place - and Im more ok with the trade than I was Day 1 considering I believe that Frederick+Williams >>> Floyd

However - with that said... I'd have to say B - without a doubt

We shouldve drafted Cyprien in the first - more than likely could have grabbed Frederick in the 2nd and if not we still draft Escobar in the 2nd- Still get Williams in the third, and then take someone like Schwenke or Barrett Jones in the 4th...

We got:
Frederick
Escobar
Williams
Wilcox

Instead we could have had:
Cyprien (Immediate Starter)
Frederick (MUCH better value here)
Williams (Steal of the draft)
Damontre Moore/John Jenkins (Fills a need at DT)

or
Cyprien (Immediate Starter)
Escobar (assuming Frederick is off the board which I doubt)
Williams (Steal of the draft)
Schwenke/Barrett Jones (imo - as much potential/upside as Frederick)

Guess only time will tell... but i feel Cyprien will be a lot better than Wilcox, where as Fredrick will not be THAT much better than Schwenke/Jones

The were saying on talking cowboys that looking back we are averaging less than one starter per draft. I think Frederick and Williams alone are two potential quality starters. They both look solid to me.
