Draft Status After Early Games...

We came into the game with the #7 pick. As of right now, we're tied with Seattle, Tennessee, Washington, and Minnesota for the #8 pick. We did lose to Minny and Tenn, so we got the tie-breaker over them.

the tie breaker doesn't do us any good right now for draft spot. just sos

So the scenario now is to trade up for peterson or trade down a tad for one of the OTs unless some player we really like slips a little.

Well Spencer may just work out and so my thirst for Quinn is less, so yeah, trading down for Carimi sounds good to me. I hope we grab Moffitt in the third too.

That has nothing to do with it. It's based on SOS.

I don't get it. A simple loss would have sufficed. Then there are no trades and we get plenty of options. More draft picks, the higher chance we have of getting it right.

I can't be too excited about this win. This was really a scrimmage that cost not only higher picks in the 2st round but every rounds after that.

All you need to do is look at the players and coaches to see that this win was needed and will give the team some hope. I don't care who the Eagles played.

I can't stand to even think about the Cowboys right now. They played like crap all year and the only thing we needed for the new year was a loss..But no they muster out a win against scrubs and ruin a much better draft choice.

They can't get anything right!

See everybody come draft week...

Tough victory. Hard to feel good about it. Kind of depressing like when the Cowboys win but suffer serious injuries in the process.

Got to focus on the positive now. If it weren't for a handful of bad plays, the team would have been .500. And maybe AL DL Dareus will be there when the Cowboys draft. Maybe with a renewed DL, the Cowboys can generate enough pressure to bail out the secondary. And Romo will be back next year to hopefully bail out the OL like he has done so many times. And maybe the Cowboys will get an OL or two in the draft and FA.

Chicago really turned it around from a season ago and they didn't have a first and second round draft pick IIRC.

Yes, those last two drives were beyond stupid. Why play like that now? Why not in the previous 15 games?

Well now we know McGee is ok as our 3rd string QB and that Spencer can get some sacks and turnovers, so I think we got some questions answered and morale went up. Witten was awesome. Ware was a beast. It's good to get the win.

JJ open your check book.......sign at least a OL, S, DE and ILB before the draft begin. BTW, we need those guys to start.....:D

If Morale went up by barely beating a team playing all 2nd and 3rd stringers then we have bigger problems than I care to admit.

We left that game pretty embarrassed. They played a bunch of practice squad type of players..

what exactly are you implying?.This win is a positive and to think otherwise is just wrong.

Witten and Ware proved why they're HOFers, but c'mon guys, now's not the time. :(

seriously?
practice squad players?
there may have been an abundance of second and third stringers but last time i looked, the eagles draft very well and identify the type of player that suits their system
those scrubs were playing their ***** off and i saw talent out there
give them some credit

I am not implying anything. The cowboys looked terrible playing for their careers against a bunch of players on the eagles that have nothing to play for.

If we would have came out and showed everyone why they were backups and we played starters by putting up a convincing 42-7 type of game then I could agree about a positive.

Seeing this performance against the team we played today just shows the type of loser mentality we have developed with this team.

Look at who we played. It wasnt the starters from Philly with something to prove. It was a group of practice players. We should have ran them out of the building and instead they made us look terrible. We are lucky to survive with a win against a team that would go 0-16 if they play the entire season.

You can see that as a positive. I see it as a sign of how low our expectations have fallen.

If Kitna had played, maybe we had a chance of blowing them out, but not with McGee playing like that.

we are not going to blow up any one with this o-line and secondary.any QB will have a field day against this defense. Everybody agrees that big time changes have to made in those groups going forward.

To have laid down for this game would have been bush league. The team proved they are winners. This win will leave a good taste on the players' mouths and propel them into training camp. The Eagles are our biggest rivals and a win means something. It really does.

I will give them credit... they took it to us big time. They came out with players that they picked up from other teams practice squads. Look it up.
That was a joke.

Most of the guys on that field playing for the eagles will never amount to anything in the NFL. I know it sucks to admit. But its the reality. We should have ran over them with the talent we had on the field.

If you are OK with the eagles 2nd and 3rd stringers only being 1 point worse than our starters than thats on you man. I wont be happy with such poor production from the talent we have on this team.

I guess it sounds corny, but I don't mind the win at the end of the season. If it makes any of our current players feel better about going into next season like Witten, Ware, Ratliff and works as a moral boost of sorts maybe it's worth it.

And realisticly, how do you get the team to lose as Jerry Jones, we were already starting the 3rd string QB. Does Jerry tell Garrett to blow some calls, tell the kicker to miss the xp, have the lineman miss blocks? When you think about it it would be pretty hard to really get anyone to lose on purpose when they are technically playing for their job here or elsewhere. Does he tell Garrett he has the job locked up secretly and to go ahead and lose?

I think it works out even because we were all thinking we would beat Arizona and lose to Philly.

Are we world beaters? no...

But we played against their "1st string" QB, where as we started our 3rd string QB starting his 1st NFL game....

We gave up 13 points.
