Drafting Sonny Styles with 12?

done different mocks hard telling where hes going to go.Ive seen as late as early 20s which Id be shocked if he lasted that long. Im targeting Downs, and Bain jr first then Bailey or Faulk but if styles end up the consolation prize thats a good problem to have.
Careful with Faulk.... I am here and he is more of a run defender defensive end. Don't expect much in terms of sacks...

I know its completely unfair but I am getting Bobby Carpenter flashbacks
one of TWO OSU LBs considered sure things
son of a former NFL player
If that's the case I hope we're getting more AJ Hawk and less Bobby Carpenter.

Lil’Humprey Jordan called and was wondering why it didn’t work out for him.

Luuuuuulz.

Oh, hold on…. I’m getting a call from Roschon Johnson now…
You choose two players I never said I wanted in the first round. Try harder.

I know it's still early, but my goodness, the more I read about him, I'm targeting him at 12. Word has it, he's going to blow up the combines ( workouts).

No. 10 Sonny Styles, Ohio State, linebacker

Styles has started 28 games and won’t turn 21 until November. Last year, he finished second on the team in tackles with 100, with 10.5 TFLs and five broken-up passes. The son of former Ohio State star Lorenzo Styles Sr., who won a Super Bowl with the St. Louis Rams, is a remarkable athlete. At 6-4 1/2, 243 pounds, he broad jumped 11-0, vertical jumped 40 inches and squatted 675 pounds. His body fat is 10 percent. If not for Jeremiah Smith, Styles would be the Buckeyes’ biggest Freak. (The truth is, it’s close between them.)

“He’s a little faster,” Styles said of Smith, who hit 23.5 mph this year. “My one last year was like 23.2. My most recent one was 22.8. He’s rolling. We’re super competitive with each other. We’ll do bike sprints against each other. We’ll push sleds. We have a bunch of great athletes always pushing each other.”

Like Smith, Styles credits his father for helping him get a good start on developing his Freaky athleticism.

“When I was younger, I did a lot of explosive training with my dad,” he said. “At 5, 6 (years old), we were doing ladders, running with the parachutes, doing broad jumps up hills, box jumps, jump squats. He always made everything a competition.”

Styles said DB Brenten Jones, a 6-2, 205-pound former walk-on, is in the running for biggest Buckeye Freak: “He runs like 23.5, jumps 11-feet broad. Vert’s almost 40. He is a Freak.”

That problem that presents itself is what’s available….i can get a linebacker at 20 and that linebacker will start for me. At 12….i need to see what’s there. Caleb Dowhd at 12 and a linebacker at 20 or a corner? I just improved my defense by10 spots.

You’re lying out your face. You absolutely said Humphrey was a first round prospect which is precisely the reason I clown you about it to this day.

OSU guys are very fundamentally sound,Styles is the only LB I would pick in the 1st round.

Styles has the ability to play safety as well as off ball linebacker. Think of him as a better chess piece like the South Carolina kid that is playing in Seattle. Styles is probably not making it to 12 with Moore going back to school.

Post the link. I'm getting clowned by a clown. I don't think you know what that means.

Oh, this schtick again where you ask me to post the link, then I do, then you ask for it again like a mindless goldfish? Or, when I post the link of you claiming “Roschon Johnson would start for 90% of the teams in league,” you claim you’re right despite the fact he’s been buried in the Bears depth chart since he’s been drafted?

I can be happy with that. Not first choice

Post the link. I'm curious how you got Roschon would start for 90% of the" league" when I was talking about college football.
Go ahead and post anything where I said Arch Manning would be the first overall pick in the draft. You know why you refuse to post the link? You can't.

I already said I was wrong about Humphrey So you don't have anything on me there.
Keep swinging for the fences.

Just give me the best two defensive playmakers. I don't care about the position. The other holes can be filled with solid veterans via FA.

I'd go with Downs, Delane, or Bailey.

Big fan of Styles...but as I just posted in another thread don't see much different in him and Anthony Hill Jr. Hill has more experience, more production and will test out as another freak athlete IMO.

Styles at 12 seems rich for an off ball LBr but the class is bad so might be worth it. I'd prefer a more premium position but outside of Bailey I'm not sure there is a player that warrants the pick.
You watched both these players and came out thinking they are equal?

I think there are better prospects at more valuable positions, but in a worst case scenario I wouldn’t have a problem with Styles at 12.
Kind of my thinking, if we are wiped out at Edge and Corner, no Downs, he would be in consideration.
