Renegotiations

-Restructure Larry Allen's deal. He is still an effective player eventhough he is but a shell of his former self.

-Restructure Al Singleton. Solid veteran would be an excellent backup if he could be convinced to accept a little bit less.

Free Agency

-Sign Adam Vinatieri K, New England. Give the best kicker in the game $2.5-3 million per over 3 or 4 years. Could have a decisive influence on 2-3 games a year.

-Sign Gerald Sowell FB, New York Jets. Solid fullback should be available for near the veteran minimum. Would be an upgrade over Polite.

-Sign Ryan Hannam TE, Seattle. Young tight end is an effective blocker and would give Parcells the flexibility to run the multiple formation offense that he is fond of.

-Sign Julian Peterson LB, San Francisco. The crown jewel of our free agency crop. Super talented player is still young at 27 and should be a terror opposite DeMarcus Ware in the 3-4.

-Sign Chris Hope FS, Pittsburgh. Another young defender who has suprisingly not received much interest up to this point in the free agency process. Up and coming player would be an upgrade and allow to Keith Davis to go back to the special teams role which he excels at.

Draft

Round 1 - Santonio Holmes WR, Ohio State. This guy has playmaker written all over him. He has superb speed and is dynamic with the ball in his hands. Needs a bit more polish on his route running skills, but he would get that in Dallas working behind two old pros. Much needed injection of youth and explosion at a rapidly aging position.

Round 2 - Gabe Watson NT, Michigan. Massive nose tackle is a load in the middle of the defense. Questions about consistency and effort drop this talented player out of the first, but if anybody can get him to play to his potential it is Parcells. Immediately will play 25-30 snaps off the bench and will eventually take over for Jason Ferguson.

Round 3 - Charles Spencer OG, Pittsburgh. Massive, powerful player who can be dominant at the point of attack. Is also a very good athlete for his size, but has only played offense for 2 years and is considered raw at this point. Will provide good depth and will be looked to be a replacement for Allen or Rivera a year or two down the road.

Day Two - Depth picks along the defensive front seven and maybe a potshot at a project WR/KR or DB/KR.

Neither do I.

And that little fact makes me like the post that much more.

While I don't necessarily agree with all the moves, I wll say that it was nicely put together.

I'm thinkin that Peterson won't be here and well end up going with a LB in the 1st round.

Other than that. no complaints here.

LOL, me neither, BRING HIM IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Owens is a playmaker that gives it his all everytime he's on the field, get him signed asap!!!

Other than that, I love you're offseason man, great job!!!!

Matter a fact, I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!

If we could get all that done, that would be an offseason that could give us the #1 defense in the league. The LB's would be stacked(Ayodele, Ware, James, Peterson) The Secondary would be one of the best in the league(FS-Hope, RCB-Henry, LCB-Newman, SS-Williams) As for our offense, with those asjustments to the OL, we would be set. Also adding Vinateri would benefit special teams, and he could win us those games, that come down to the wire. No more nail-biters, when you know you've got a guy that is money in the clutch.
Great list!!!!

Actually, from everything I've heard and read, Peterson isn't big enough to play OLB in a 34. I'm sure he'd do okay... just like al singleton did okay when undersized... but for the money he'll command, I just don't think Parcells would want the guy in there.

Besides, I'm not so sure he'll ever be the same player he was before his achillies injury. Too risky, IMO.

Another thing: I think Parcells wants to leave the OLB position open so that if the best player sitting there at 18 is an OLB, we can nab him. And I do think there's a very good chance that the best player sitting there will be an OLB... someone like Lawson, Carpenter, Wimbley. If we already have our stud OLB's (Ware and Peterson) then we won't be able to pull the trigger on the BPA at 18.

And I don't think Parcells is going to go WR in round 1 either. Unless we get TO... I think we'll go into the season with the same WR's as we did last year, for 1 last season.

Take Peterson off that list add T.O. Take LA and Singleton off, add Ashworth. Take Hope of the list add A. Smith in the 3rd. Replace Holmes in the first with LAwson or Carpenter or Wimberly. (Leaning toward Lawson)

Not bad

But give me the restructuring of Campbells contract over Singletons. and Sowell is a lux. If he's there at the end of FA when the FA smoke has cleared then fine.

IMO, Holmes is not worth a selection at 18. And if you are going to trade down in the late 1st then I would take Jackson over Holmes.

Where's Kevin Burnett? He'll at least back up DeMarcus if he doesn't win the starting LOLB job.

And I don't think they're going to end up signing Sowell. Parcells loves Polite and says he's one of the strongest players on the team. Polite is also taller and about 15 pounds heavier than Sowell. Plus last year was pretty much his rookie season, since he spent 2004 on IR. Give him another year.

Keep dreaming if you think Dallas will select a wide receiver in the first round.

Peterson is too small. Watson is too lazy. Outside of that not too bad.
