Sorry for repost:

Drew Bledsoe could be an option as a backup for the Saints, according to the Biloxi Sun Herald.

This is probably just speculation, but Bledsoe has ties to coach Sean Payton. Jamie Martin, 37, has failed to impress in offseason workouts. Undrafted rookie Tyler Palko and Jason Fife are New Orleans' other options currently. Bledsoe announced his retirement in April and didn't seem interested in backing up.

Mr. I'm to good to be a back up is gonna be a back up.

Id take Drew over Johnson. At least drew can throw the ball. From all reports, Johnson's arm is probably weaker then a girl scouts'.

Yea he can throw the ball if you give him 5 seconds to pat, 2 seconds to wind, and 2 more seconds to throw. Not to mention not have a defender within 30 miles of him.

anything less, and it's a INT.

Oh, I know Drew isn't the absolute ideal backup but look at what Dallas has now.

Me too. I just find it funny that he thought he was to good to be a back up last year.............but this year it's a whole new ball game for him.

The last time Johnson came in as back up he lead the vikings to a 8-8 record, and a potential playoff birth. and there season started 1-6. But of course, you guys refuse to look at that. He's good at what he does. Short passes, and a strong running game. You know the "bus driving" method that got us to the playoffs in 2003?

But please continue wanting the same QB everyone was asking to be cut before the season, and during the season, until he was benched

I love how the mediots throw crap out without anything to back it up(actually having evidence otherwise). Bledsoe does not want to be a backup. This was total speculation.

At least Brad Johnson knows how to get the ball to his dump* offs and NOT take the stupid sack..

SHHHH!!!! they would rather take a QB who will get sacked 5 times, and 3 INT's, but can throw the ball 70 yards, 10 yards father than the WR. not the guy who will get it to his playmakers and let them run for 70 yards.

Yeah you're right, it's no use in continuing the argument...

I would take bledsoe any time. He can play on my team anytime anywhere.

I wish he was still here.

Ha, even if he does come back (and I doubt it) it will only further cement the Saints as the "Cowboys Lite"

I can't believe it took 11 posts for someone to see this news (if you can call it that) as pure speculation. The article even says it in the first sentence. Nowhere does it indicate that Drew has an interest.

Good job sk88. The rest of you can go back to ripping or praising Bledsoe.

I'm sure there will be more rumors about Bledsoe going to some team as a backup. I think that is all it is rumors from a slow off-season I don't expect Bledsoe to come out of retirement to be anyones backup.

No thanks. He was good for about the first 5 games two years ago, but right now, he is an interception or sack waiting to happen. Iwould say he lost more games for us than actually won. Brad Johnson, on the other hand, was instrumental in taking a 1-6 team to finish 7-2 and barely miss the playoffs. If I had my choice of backups, it would be Plummer, but Johnson can still get the job done. Everyone keeps saying that he has no deep ball, which might be true, but the name of the game is moving the chains. short dump offs are jut as important in tiring the defense as running the ball; keeps the defense on the field longer. Bledsoe can throw the ball deep, if that's what you want. To bad the deeply thrown ball will get intercepted.
