I know we're moving on to the Patriots, but I saw this stat and it floored me.

Vs Dallas, Drew Brees was 30-31 passing against 4 pass-rushers or less.

Against 5+ pass-rushers, he was 3-10.

Might need to send some pressure if the front 4 isn't getting the job done. Hopefully Hardy makes that unnecessary starting this week.

That's not a Marinelli way. He believes only rushing 4.

i mentioned this countless times before the game but i think i am giving up on Marinelli changing his ways, thankfully getting Hardy and Gregory should help a lot.

His average attempt was less than 4 yards, too. All that stat shows is what we knew if we watched the game: he was throwing very high percentage stuff at the line of scrimmage and betting we couldn't tackle or take the ball away. He got into more trouble in obvious passing situations where he had to attempt lower probability throws. We brought an extra rusher in some of those situations.

We actually had ok pressure in the last game, but if you can't hold onto the picks, and you don't tackle better at the S position, teams are going to be able to sustain drives.

As frustrating as our defense has been, it is even more frustrating to realize that would have won has we caught what hit us in the hands

There were 5-6 plays that, if we'd just made the play that was there to be made, we probably win this game. The obvious turnover plays were three of them. That stupid 5 yards we gave up on STs that lead to the FG was another. And Street stepping out of bounds and killing a drive was another one. These are opportunities we weren't missing last year when we were playing well. It's so frustrating seeing us missing chances when we're so beat up we need to be on point to have a shot at winning the game.

I don't care how bad a team like the Saints is. At home, on Sunday Night Football, they're going to be in the game if you don't do the things that winning teams do to win. And for the most part this season, the few star players we've got left aren't getting it done. I know it's not popular, but I have a hard time getting mad at Weeden for playing QB like a Sasquatch when I knew going in he was a Sasquatch. But Church whiffing on tackles or Terrence dropping balls or one of the OLs getting a bit lazy and getting beaten by a rookie DL on a block just drives me bats.

Im finally agreeing I was wrong about the safety position. I have thought all along Wilcox should be SS and we find a FS in the draft. The part I was wrong about was spending a high pick on a FS. Now we have invested in both lines FS is at the top of my list. ....unless a Gurley type RB is there lol

Why would Dallas invest in FS when we have Byron Jones?

I was holding out hope for Wilcox, and he looked good the first two games. Time is running out, though.

We're going to find out a lot about Jones this weekend, too.

I like Wilcox but as a SS not a FS. Church and Wilcox are both SS

Because it doesn't look like they are going to let him take it over full time. Draft a FS that will be a FS not a utility guy

Based off what? He's been used as a FS in nickel situations which in today's league there is a lot of. Jones has done a stellar job. It's only a matter of time before he is the starter full time.

Thats speculation. I'm all for Jones at FS but he was lined up at CB and your two SS in deep coverage on the spiller 80 yard TD

Lol dude that's one play. Jones has the ability to play both corner and safety.

Didn't say he couldn't. He is a rookie and not blaming him for the spiller td. If he is to be the FS put him there and be done with it. If not draft one. Not sure what your trying to prove
