I was driving around listening to ESPN radio and heard Chuck Savage on the SPORTSDESK report on how Ricky Williams is looking to get re-instated into the NFL. The guy also mentioned that the three teams that are interested in him are the Bears, Texans(?) and the COWBOYS.

Did anyone else hear this?

Nope. Have not heard that one yet. But that does not surprise me that rumors like this are already flying around.

Ricky does not have a chance with Dallas. He's old, out of football shape, and obviously has some issues, not to mention some serious commitment to football issues. It's not even worth discussing.

I don't like julius
its blind prejudice, when I look at julius sometimes I just get a vibe he doesn't want to be here, call it a man's intuition.
I also like ricky williams for some odd reason.
Ricky to my eye runs alot like marion barber, I would love to see us beat the snot out of defenses with those guys.
He is faster than marion though, I just like the one two punch idea with those guys.

I like Ricky myself as a football player. One of my favorite guys to watch.

But I doubt he could ever be the player he once was. I bet he weighs only 210 lbs right now too.

Thats not even factoring in all his other garbage.

Julius deserves to at least play out his contract and lets not forget he was one of the few who did show up for us in the playoffs last year.

he hasn't shown up in the regular season since his rookie year, I don't respect guys that only show up when it matters.
I want a guy that leaves it all out on the field, julius doesn't have the talent for me to overlook his mailing it in at times. TO has that kind of talent that I can overlook him getting lazy at times.

Call it woman's intuition, but a man that picks pot over the NFL has more luggage than Samsonite. No way I would ever take him over Jujo.

He's a relapse waiting to happen.

I think that's an unjustified opinion. You may not like his running style or effectiveness, but you can't say he mails it in.

But then to want to toss Julius aside for Ricky Williams of all people. That deserves a  . Seriously.

2 year contract at vet's minimum. No signing bonus.

Then I'd be interested.

Gotta agree here.

Honestly I think Julius is a guy who would be a lot better with about 7 more carries a game.

But we have Barber so we cant afford to do that. Plus when we bring in a fresh Barber vs a tired defense they cant do nothing but get ran over. I love it.

Thats also why I want McFadden. He knows how to produce bigtime with limited carries.

There's no guarantee that will translate into the pro's.

Just playing devil's advocate here, but Reggie Bush was a bigtime special player in college and his game has yet to translate to the NFL.

I would guess that his agent is busy at work spreading rumors to get things rollling.

I was a huge Ricky-fan when he was with the Longhorns. Not so much a Ricky-fan since he's turned Pro. He seems to be too much of a flake. I believe that if he could concentrate and give it his all to be an NFL running back, he would be a top 10 running back. But he is not all there, or so it seems.

Either way, I don't think he could help the Cowboys at this point in his life.

Same here, I was a big supporter of Ricky at UT and felt he would do a great job in the NFL but Ricky has shown where football ranks in his life and it does not appear to be that big of a deal to him.

Didn't Reggie Bush have over 1300 total yards and 9 TD's his Rookie year?

Reggie Bush is a hybrid and i'd tap the breaks before saying his game doesn't translate.

Especially only 4 games into this season.

Then what do you do when Rickey gets suspended again and you've got only one proven RB? Maybe Thompson could pick up the slack, but maybe he couldn't. You would be throwing away one of the strengths of the team for a wild gamble with really low odds, IMHO.
