DT, FS and RB ....

So, on the eve of training camp - just thought I'd ask, who or what positions will you be watching mostly this upcoming season for next years draft.
For me, I hope QB can now be addressed internally. But if not it has to get strong consideration.
But I'm looking at DT (AGAIN), FS and a stud RB. You ?

Cornerback. If we are able to keep Hardy past this year, CB is the #1 need. Claiborne and Carr are likely to be playing elsewhere, leaving our only corners as Scandrick, Patmon, and Jones.

Yep. Even said so about 10 minutes after we drafted Jones.

Im going off what i would want with our 1st round pick in order.

Positions i would want the most:
1. FS- If you can nab a true ball hawk then take him. Can turn our already much improved defense into a feared defense.
2. RB- running back is the offense only real weakness now. Getting a top prospect would complete the offense for years.
3. CB- Secondary still needs a overhaul. Jones was a great first piece. If we can lets get another corner in the same mold as Jones then pull the trigger.
Positions that would be nice to get:
4. DE- No guarantee Hardy stays and still need depth
5. DT- Mine as well finish the interior of the defensive line with a 300+ pound block eating run stuffing beast
6. QB- Still a few years before i see Romo retiring but getting his replacement would be awesome
Luxury Picks:
7. SS- Not a need. actually all we have are Strong safety's but if a beast box safety falls like Landon Collins did this past draft, then i wouldn't pass at the end of the 1st if the board is mostly wiped out.
8. WR- T will has been very solid #2 receiver but a top speed receiver to play opposite of Dez would be deadly.
9. LG/RT- Another O line beast is not needed but hey if one falls into our lap again then take him.

WR could be higher on the list then people realize. T Will will be entering a walk year. Dont have a clue how the WR class will be next year, but if a WR is BPA, it could be tempting

It will sound trite... but Best Available Player. That is how they've been doing it for the most part and it is really working out well.

They will probably fill any pressing holes through free agency and then be set to go BAP on draft day.

However, your question could also be asked about filling holes through free agency. So, in the spirit of your question I think the team will likely want to pick up a runner, an interior DL, a safety, or a LB (who they just can't seem to get enough of).

We did come into camp with about 20 LB's :lmao:

It's possible, if Mo plays well this year they extend him a contract

Ball Hawking FS don't grow on trees.. More difficult to find than a shutdown Corner.. Ed Reeds are becoming extinct.. Rb in the first 2 rounds ain't happening.. CB and DT are the sweet spots

I'd throw offensive tackle in there too.
