For the amount of touches he gets on offense plus his non production on ST, it would be more efficient as well as cost effective to look for his replacement in UFA. Yes, UFA, and not the draft or FA. Here are some players with sub 4.4 speed who should be available after the draft:

Corey Grant - 5'10 205 4.3 (Auburn)
Akeem Hunt - 5'10 190 4.4 (Purdue)
Venric Mark - 5'07 180 4.3 (Northwestern)
Raheem Mostert - 5'11 190 4.3 (Purdue)
Nick Hill - 5'08 200 4.3 (MSU)

Dunbar is no Sproles but one of these guys may have that potential. Mostert is a speed freak and the fastest player in NCAA but Grant, Hunt and Mark are all better football players. Hill is a project. All are faster than fast.

It appears that they plan to keep Ryan Williams on the 53 this year. They guaranteed 240K of his 2 year, 1.5M contract.

With Williams and Randle that really just leaves room for 1 RB. If Murray returns then he is the 1. If Murray does not return I'll be surprised if they don't draft a RB.

Dunbar averaged about 40% of the special teams snaps. I don't remember him being bad.

Good list of fast guys. It never hurts to bring some of those types to camp.

Murray will return IMO. And Joe Randle and Ryan Williams will be competing for primary back up spot. The Dunbar spot is a specialist position and if Dunbar does not return then it will go to the type of player I presented above.

Worse comes to worst Cowboys can stash one or 2 on PS. Someone is bound to get hurt.

I kind of like Mark from Northwestern. I saw a little of him and he looked sproles-like, lol.

To be fair though, I haven't watched him a whole lot. At first blush though, I like him.

And Mark transferred to West Texas AM last season so Cowboys can at least get a free look at him.

Where did you get this info? Nick Hill will run 4.6 or slower and will be undrafted
Not sure on other guys but doubtful all are close to that fast.

Just looked at your list a little closer. Two Purdue backs running sub 4.4?! No.... just no.

Yes, UDFAs can usually be stashed on the PS. Also, if they did keep a 4th guy like Dunbar or one of the guys in your list they could look at it as a 5th/6th WR. IMO, if something happened to Beasley, Dunbar could play that role.

UFA or UDFA means undrafted free agent.

Are you willing to do a sig bet on those 2 Purdue backs? Both will run low 4.4 or better. Mostert is more of an athlete than football player but he should be one fo the fastest if not the fastest player in draft.

I get my metrics from NFLDS who have proven to be the most reliable until official combine and individual workouts occur.
