Dunbar TD overlooked

Nowadays, when we see Dunbar, we think of passing situations. He never gets the ball anymore as a RB. Well, in the last game, they ran him a few times, including once on the goal line.

How is this significant? Now, it is on film and future opponents have to prepare for. Now, when we bring in Dunbar, opposing defenses cannot just assume pass. Now we have allowed for our offense to mix things up and confuse the defense.

I would love to see one play with Dunbar. I know it was a bit of a broken play, but I would like to see Dak and Dunbar do a similar play to the Wentz/Sproles play. I could really see that working up to a handful of times this season for some nice yardage.

I'm with you. It seems we have so many weapons it's hard to get them all involved. Maybe with Dez out this creates more opportunities for Dunbar both receiving and running. I liked the hurry up with him in but, would like to see Zeke in with him as well.

I can't remember who it was against, but Dunbar caught a long pass down the right sideline in a game last year and I said YES! MORE OF THAT PLEEZ!

Dunbar has elite quickness and great hands. He will beat LBs every time. He needs to be an option more often on wheel routes like that. I'd much rather see him on the field in offensive sets than Whitehead.

Good call on the two-back sets. On offense there's nothing that Whitehead does that Dunbar can't, and Dunbar catches the ball.

Few times? He ran once and that was a play where Prescott checked the option down to him for the TD.

Problem is the coaches seem to trust Whitehead more on run downs. They telegraph it with him just like they used to do with Dwayne Harris.

Yep. When he motions to the wing a run is coming. Harris was a really good blocker and maybe Whitehead is too, but he weighs 27 pounds so I dunno. I need to look at those plays. Maybe they're setting something up for the future.

Dunbar is right on track I'm carried with what he's done the last two years, about one carry a game. Two per game over his career

They've passed on many downs with Whitehead in. Though, not sure if Dak audibled out.

I was interesting that they used Dunbar as a goalline runner.

The play before they were in a 4 WR and Dunbar, they just decided to stay in the same formation to prevent the defense to change their personel to goal line defense. This created a mismatch and an easy score for Dunbar. Great thinking by Linehan...

Yep. And when Whitehead has 0 targets to him as an actual wide receiver , it's pretty limiting and effectively tells the defense what's happening - and not happening - when he's on the field.

Given the fact that he's a non-factor at receiver and apparently not this team's punt returner, I'm back to questioning whether or not he deserves to stay on this roster.

You and I can take a knee in the end zone.

Not so much great strategy as it was an accident of which personnel were on the field for the prior play.

They used Dunbar on the goaline because they were playing hurry up to keep the bears from subbing their D.

At least thats what Broaddus said on the break.
Right. Circumstance not design.

It wasn't an accident at all. They could have changed personnel if they wanted to. They didnt want to.

Total nonsense!
