Dwayne Harris 3rd WR?

Can't put Radaway on the PS now that our genius GM opened his mouth and blabbed about how good he looks. He's either going on our roster or someone else will snatch him up.

To answer your question though, what makes you feel anymore confident in Holley or Williams? They're proven just as little as Radaway.
Because they have been in the system longer, have more game experience, and I trust them more with knowing their assignments and where they should be.

Which is why he needs to be on the practice squad. Put it this way. if there was some unforeseen injury and our 5th WR had to see extensive playing time, would you want Radway out there running routes in a real game? I'm not singling you out, but that is something that needs consideration. If he's not ready to be out there, he shouldn't be on the final roster.

So you would feel comfortable with Jesse Holley, Manny Johnson, or an injured and even less experienced player in Teddy Williams? Let's be serious. We all know that Radway is a little raw, but this guy is above the likes of Holley, Johnson or Williams. Just because Holley and Johnson have been around longer, it doesn't mean that they are ready to play. Those guys bring nothing to the table, while Radway has shown flashes that he could be a deep threat at WR.

No offense taken.

I can tell you this I would not lose an ounce of sleep if we cut Holley or Johnson for Radway. How much action did Miles see his first couple of years?

I would be hating life if we had lost him on PS for some reality show winner because we were scared we may get down to the 5th WR having to play

Ha LOL... Thanks for posting that. I loved that.

However, I was referring to the WR postion. Radway nearly broke one of those tonight!

I think you're the one that needs a dose of reality, my friend. You do realize that Radway didn't even play the last two seasons of football in high school, and in college, only made the team as a walk-on for Abilene Christian Acadamy, right? The kid has potential; I am not denying that. But I don't see how you can sit there with a straight face and say he is better right now than Holley, Johnson, or Williams, guys that have more experience in football in general and more experience in the offensive system.

Look dude, just because a player has been in a system longer it does not mean that he is the better player. Holley, Johnson, and Williams has never played any meaningful snaps for the Dallas Cowboys and it's a reason why they haven't, they're not good enough. Who cares if the guy walked on the football team in college, he was obviously good enough to be brought into camp. One of my best friends walked on the football team for the University of Texas because he had a track scholarship, he turned out to be Michael Huff.

You really think a team is going to take a raw inexperienced player and put him on their 53 man roster just because Jerry Jones said he has looked good in camp? Get serious. Any team watching the tape of tonight would come away with the thought that he has no clue how to run routes. He may have some speed but he is light years away from being ready to play. No team is putting that guy on their roster. Every team in the league will probably cut 2 WRs that they like better than Radway after watching him trying to run routes tonight. He slips to the practice squad as easy as anyone ever has, unless of course, he straightens out his route running and goes off the next three games.

Only Manuel Johnson has ever caught a pass in an NFL game and he's only caught one, so at that point I'm not even sure how much "game experience" really matters. If we get to the point where we are depending on our fifth wideout, we're screwed regardless of which of them it is. I'd personally rather play the odds that they'll never see the field anyway and go with the guy that I think has the best long-term potential to help us, not the guy who has sat on the bench the longest.

You're judging this kid's ability to play at a high level right now because of one route that he "may" have ran wrong. Let's wait until the end of preseason before you say that there is no way he will be on a 53 man roster.

Did you even read the last line of my post? I'm only judging the probability that he can make it to the practice squad. He may turn out to be better than Austin but right now, after tonight, he easily slips to the practice squad.

-Miles
-Dez
-Ogletree
-Harris
-Holley

That should be the 5 WRs. Holley will make it because he's always making plays on special teams. He was in there again tonight on punt return coverage. After Hurd left, they will look for Holley to replace him on ST.

Radway should make the practice squad. Forget Manny Johnson, I was never impressed by him anyway

Yes, I read the last line of your post and you're still saying that this kid isn't good enough to make the 53 man roster. I respect your opinion, even though I think you're wrong. No one can justify keeping guys like Holley or Johnson on the roster over Radway.

Do you think he's gonna finish above ogletree? 5 receptions 127 yards and 2 TD's...i know its preseason but he's a rookie, so thats impressive. I really think this years draft could really pay dividends in the future.

I stated on Sunday as to how fluid he is...

This kid has talent and just needs a chance... he just gets it...

He will make the team and contribute... book it...

How can you justify someone getting a roster spot for simply punt return coverage duty? The new kickoff rules have greatly impacted the ST players, and if you can't contribute in any other way besides punt coverage, you shouldn't have a roster spot. I know Holley is a fan favorite, but the guy is a 28 year old punt coverage player with no upside as a WR. I'd rather keep the younger, faster player with upside as a WR. Radway will beat out Holley for the 5th WR spot.

We really should stop talking in terms of 1,2,3 and really find our slot guy that can mix it up, just like Miles and Dez.

This guy, Dwane Harris, is going to be a treat to watch for years to come. I rarely come out and risk my precious ITYS reputation this early, with such little evidence. :)

His center of gravity, his athletic ability, his ability to jump...a guy this young in the NFL having such a great game??? I know, I know. Don't drink the koolaid. Someone poisoned it. But I get a feeling that's not the case here.

And, again, we [hopefully] find another quality player in the later rounds.

With that said, I hope to see more competition, maybe even forcing us to cut the Beuhler.

(that kick off rule will hurt his value, I think)

Holley hasn't shown squat to hold off Poots. I'm thinking Poots makes enough noise in camp to steal the 5th spot.

harris and ogletree will make this team, thats a given. lets give radway a chance!! he has huge upside unlike holley; do we need another receiver? or do we have enough talent at that position? if we have enough talent we may stick with a ST ace like holley

Radway competed well tonight.

so then you have bryant, austin, harris, ogletree, and poots? what bout radway, manuel johnson and holley. poots is gonna take last spot from them?

I'm sure, if given the chance, Radway can have the same if not greater impact on ST's as Holley. The difference between Radway and Holley, is that Radway is younger, faster, and has an upside at the WR position. As I said earlier, because of the new kickoff rules, ST players are negatively impacted. You need to be able to produce more than just playing ST's in order to make the 53 man roster. Radway has potential as a WR and Holley does not. Advantage: Radway
