Eagles/Browns game

Man, you can say what you want about Asante but there are few CB's that look as natural getting turnovers. A lot of corners panic trying to pick off the ball and so often he looks like the throw was simply intended for him.

On the other hand though he does fall for shoulder/pump fakes and will give up a big play. He excels in zone coverage and is terrible in man, IMO I'd rather take the balanced guy.

He was thrown at 36 times last year and had 7 ints. Ill take that

He gives up more plays than he makes. Just like Deangelo Hall.

Opposing quarterbacks had a rating of just 31.7 when targeting Samuel; comfortably the best mark in the NFL (Tramon Williams in a breakout year was the next best mark at 48.3.) Samuel allowed 46.3% of passes thrown into his coverage to be completed. Darrelle Revis topped the NFL with 38.6% but with just 7.4 yards per completion, Samuel averaged nearly ten fewer yards per reception given up than the Jets’ star. With 13 combined interceptions and passes defensed, Samuel caught or deflected the ball just six fewer times than he allowed receptions, and the longest catch he allowed last season was a mere 25 yards.

-----------------

Asante was football outsiders #1 rated CB last year actually.

Although the Eagles have 3 of the Bottom 10 CB's in missed tackles last season. Samuel 24 tackles, 10 Missed tackles. Aso 18 tackles 5 MT, and DRC 45 Tackles, 12 MTs.

PFF has some suspicious formulas. But he did have a better year last year than I thought he did. But cue in 2009 for the real Samuels. And bottom line: he still is the one that dropped a sure pick that would have won the Pats their 4th SB.

He will be thrown on a lot more this year.

I look for both he and Aso to have worse numbers then before.

Teams are going to run all over the Eagles, and that sets up the pass for a big play.

Hmmm...that's interesting. Didn't he miss games too last year? Can't argue the stats.

Anquan Boldin is a nice possession guy that I would have liked to have.

I'll take Dez/Miles over him 6 days a week and twice on Sunday, though.

Yea he played 11 games, but had 7 ints. Not a bad year.

I think Miles and Dez may change that this year though. I have high hopes for our offense.

He is a very poor tackler ( 2nd most missed tackles per attempt last year in the entire league). Dez/Miles are very tough to bring down. And Aso and DRC both made the top 10 in missed tackles as well.

no jenkins on the top 10 missed tackle's list? surprising.

yes the time he was hit by gray...romo looks at the ref and the ref doesn't do nothing. He act like he didnt even see romo get dumped. That type of tackle was uncalled for and late. Let that be rivers we would be talking about fines and a flag.

I hate to agree with this but I have to based on some of the hits on other QBs that have drawn flags.

Maybe these other QBs are doing something Romo isn't to get the flag thrown.

Aikman had the same problem, actually worse.

They just showed the tenderizing of Vick on sportscenter. Nice. I hope this continues.

You have to actually attempt to make the tackle for it to be a missed tackle. I'm thinking pulling an ole doesn't count.
