I will admit that I wanted him in the draft but was in no way wanted to trade up for him. I am glad that we have Dak and believe Dak is going to be a great player. I'll take Elliot and Dak over Wentz any day. I believe a lot of us would.

To me he'll always be the guy who was considered a late 1st, high 2nd round pick around January last year. Played ok in a Senior Bowl, got linked to the Cowboys because we coached him and needed a successor to Romo, and all of a sudden he shot up the rankings to top 2 somehow even though he didn't throw another ball, and he still had some negatives that lead him to be ranked as a 2nd round qb in the first place (not much experience in a lower div, throwing mechanics).

But for some reason the media doesn't call the Eagles out on reaching for him. Those initial three games where no one had tape on him really left a mark on everyone, because he's regressed big time since then.

Agree 110%. Every time the Egals get a new player we have to hear, "he's better then any other player out there". Never fails. Wentz isn't nor does he have what Dak has. Dak's a natural. I'm not saying that because he's a Cowboy (yes I am, who am I kidding LMAO), but he's proven it to EVERYONE as a rookie. Then we have to hear how Wentz didn't have any weapons per WR. Really? What excuse will they have this year when these so called WR rookies don't pan out? Pft....as always, it sux to be an Egals fan.

and for a first year QB, not named Dak, he did pretty well. Two things: 1.) I think he does have a lot of upside and 2.) The Browns should have drafted him

Yeah, well enough for a 2nd round pick that is rough around the edges. Not a top 2 pick that you moved up twice for. Yeah he played better than Goff, but who has a better career remains to be seen.

Now that he has receivers that can catch more balls than they drop, let's hope we don't eat crow for bashing this guy. He is quite athletic and had a nice arm. There are many examples of QB's who seemed average at first only to become stars.

"We" won't know till the season starts. Can't go by here say, especially Egals media/fans. Maybe they'll put Foles in when they play the Raiders so he can toss 7 td's vs them again and put that game jersey on the other side of Peyton' in the HOF. :p

He was not a reach in that draft class at all.

Look where QB's usually go.

He is a super talented player and he did not embarrass himself at all as a rookie. That offense lacks talent and he played pretty good for a rookie QB.

Most NFL QB's look average at best as a rookie. Being average as a rookie is a great sign IMO.

What Dak did is almost unheard of. He's the best rookie QB I've ever seen and it's not even close.

It's possible he ends up playing better than he did the last 75% of last year and ends up a pretty good player. He definitely has a ton of skills.

But his problems weren't really the WRs last year. He legitimately had mechanical problems and struggled to adjust once defenses took away what worked the first three or so weeks. Even with all the defensive support he had.

The jury's out on Wentz. He might well end up being the man in PHI and a thorn in our side for the next 15 years. But that's going to require him improving quite a bit over what he gave them most of last year. There's no getting around that.
