The Cowboys have a history of some success turning 1st round OT into Guards, (Big Ol Leonard Davis, for example)

Given the need at Guard, why not give it a shot? It could be a natural position for him. Possible reason for his release? He just may not be suited for 150 snaps a game in the new Philly offense.

He was an OT in college but an OG in the pros. He wasn't very good, I think.

Struggled big time in a zone blocking scheme in Philadelphia. He's also 29 years old. Think I would pass.

Honestly, of the early releases, I'd consider Zebrie Sanders for tackle. Not much on the guard front excites me.

Not a bad idea, but I'd look at somewhere else first. Watkins really struggled in Philly.

Both he and Watkins are canadians that went to Baylor. Those Baylor guys aren't panning out.

You could also add Jason Smith to that list as a Baylor lineman who didn't pan out.

Blake is also an overaged guy - I think he's 28 already.

Watkins is a bit older too, but that is an interesting trend. Jason Smith, Danny Watkins and Phillip Blake, definitely something to think about with the Baylor lineman in the 2014 draft

Yep, cant hurt to look but I think like Arkin, he cant play.
