I hope the Cowboys come prepared to run, run and run some more. With the Eagles secondary injury issues and the Cowboys receivers causing matchup problems, you may see the Eagles in passing defenses alot.

They'll probably double both Glenn and Owens and bring blitzes to whatever side Witten is on. That will keep him in to block and minimize Bledsoe's targets.

It will be interesting to see if Dallas opens with 2 TE's or 3WRs.

I think Julius needs to bring his A game and he will be the difference maker.

If the eagles go with simple blitzes (like only blitzing the side Witten is on) then we'd counter with with putting Witten in motion (which would confuse and slow down their blitz enough to buy Bledsoe a bit more time) or we'd simply throw the ball to Fasano. That IS the reason we drafted him, so that it would give us another weapon in the passing game.

I'd like to draw sopme plays up very early to Witten...that way Dawkins is forced to focus on Witten. If Dawkins moves into the box, then go deep.

15/20 yard passes to Witten will keep Dawkins back some, then JJ should have a field day running. Either way is our benefit.

Usually the Eagles, especially against Dallas, tend to blitz up the middle. It's part of the defensive philosophy. They don't run the original version of the 46 defense, but it's got a lot of similarities, particularly attacking the center position. It's the short path to the QB, so if they want to blitz and get to Bledsoe, that's their best option.

You bring up a good point...Gurode could be key...if he plays. Trotter would just blow up Big Al. Gurode would at least hold them off a second or two more with his size and strngth.

if they double t.o. and glenn they won't be blitzing. that leaves the lbs to cover two te's and a rb. not gonna happen. who would be left to blitz?

They will blitz...if not JJ will have 200 yards. Trust me they will bring someone.

No doubt they will blitz. But they won't be doubling TO AND TG when they do.

I would hope to see TO either in the slot, or motioning into the slot this game and possibly see Witten on the outside of TO sometimes. Expect TO to do tons of short crossing routes and if they anticipate a flood blitz, Cowboys will go fade on that side of the field.

That is what is cool about this offense. If you want to blitz you have to cover TO or Glenn with one guy.

The question is can Bledsoe make up his mind where to throw quickly enough to avoid the blitz, and will the decision be to the right guy (the open guy).

I think it's really important that Bledsoe is accurate with his throws as well. By that I mean, I've noticed that he gets the ball to TO but often it's not in stride. I imagine this is due to the fact that they did not get a lot of time together in TC. If we can get the ball to TO in stride, he can do a great deal more damage then what he's done already. It is also on the OC to draw up plays that will allow for this. I think TO can be huge in this game.
