That's why coaches like Coughlin and Belichick use it all the time, because it's worthless. Right?

Not against division opponents they don't.

We don't need any extra motivation to smack the Falcons, or Saints or Panthers around. And they are the same against us.

I'm glad you have that comfort blanket, but you guys have been relatively poor at getting good talent in the second round and latter. Marion Barber and Jason Witten are studs, but there isn't much else. Bradie James is ok.

But you guys have made a living hitting homeruns with your first round picks of late.
Flozell Adams (Pro Bowler).
Orlando Scandrick.
Patrick Crayton.
Nick Folk.
Chris Canty.
Andre Gurode (Pro Bowler).
Deon Anderson.
Jay Ratliff (future Pro Bowler :) ).
Patrick Watkins.
All were picked in the 2nd or later rounds and all are contributors to the team. Dallas has drafted well in the later rounds recently and plenty on them are important cogs to our machine. I seriously doubt we'll miss that one 1st in 2009 that we would've probably spent on a WR who'll need 2-3 years to develop anyways.

Yes, they do. Coughlin even made up a story about Jerry Jones last year to fire up his troops.

And that wasn't just a division game, it was a playoff game.

But enjoy your time here until you get banned. You're clearly not here to talk about the game at all, but just to troll.

Scandrick and Anderson... jury is still out. Watkins is crap, but playing with Roy Williams makes the alternative look like gold. And Flozell Adams was drafted 10 years ago. Come on man, seriously. Let's not go there.

The rest are good contributors.

Your '05 draft was brilliant.

Can we wait until we have Romo throwing the ball to Roy in a game before we value or devalue the trade for him?

:hammer:

How can anyone evaluate this trade after one frikin game? IMHO, we aren't even going to really know the value of this trade til sometime next year after he's had a camp with the cowboys.

This year's picks (outside of 1st round)... Bennett, Choice, Scandrick, and Walden (cut). Its too early to say... but both Bennett and Scandrick have contributed. And Choice is in on special teams and got some carries last week. Way too early to tell, admittedly.

Last year...

Free has looked ok. Marten got cut. Stanback is a project. Deon Anderson is our starting FB. Folk is our kicker. Ball is on P.S. (7th rounder - not a big loss) and Brown is on the roster (7th rounder). The 7th round is about what you'd expect, a fringe roster player (Brown) and a guy who'll get cut in the near future (Ball). Marten busting in the 3rd round is a loss. Free? Too early to tell. Stanback was a 3 year project to begin with. Folk has looked the part. Anderson is ok. Its not great. Its ok. Marten being a bust really hurts it. Other than that, its pretty ok.

06. Fasano? Traded. Hatcher? Rotation player. Watkins? Injured and not that special. Skyler Green? Bust. McQuistan is still on the team (7th rounder). Whitley was cut (7th rounder). Stanley flopped (6th rounder). Pretty bad class.

05. Burnett is a ok contributor. Canty is a starter (4th) and Barber is a starter/pro bowl type player (4th). Beriault was injured/retired (6th). Pettiti sucked something horrid, but did start for a year. Not too bad, considering he was a 6th round rookie. And Ratliff (7th round) is our starting NT and one of our best defensive players. Pretty damn good.

All in all, its probably no worse/no better than if you looked at any other team during that span.

The Eagles exec is crying in his beer. One NFL Championship over 45 years ago and two SB losses is all they have. They have had a nice solid run for most of a decade but they are on the decline. I wouldn't be running my mouth. Having said that they have mostly owned us for years which I bring up to remind us we aren't doing anything either.

Neither team has a lot to crow about. Having said that I wouldn't trade players for all the tea in China right now. We're clearly on the rise and they are going the opposite direction recent slump obviously noted.

Sour grapes. Crying in your beer. Foolish meanderings. Whatever you wish but chest thumping and past triumphs won't get you anything. Dwelling on the past is the dreams of old men and having said that I wouldn't trade my dreams for theirs for anything less than my children. We have treasured memories and they don't.

Better to be a Cowboy than anything in the world besides father, husband and son.

Umm, you should stick to what you know.

Jay ratliff, patrick crayton, Tony romo, Miles austin, Keith davis, Andre gurode, flozell adams, nick folk, matt mcbriar, tony curtis, barber, witten, kevin burnett, chris canty all 2nd round or later.....

the core of this team is not from the first round. But please your an expert on the cowboys so please continue.

Where were you when Romo was throwing 5 TDs against the Bucs in one game? You weren't thumping your chest then. Why is that? Happy Thanksgiving, troll.

"Joe Banner took a few shots at the already reeling Dallas Cowboys today when he told the Eagles' web site he would would not have traded three draft picks in 2009, including a first- and third-rounder, to the Detroit Lions for wide receiver Roy Williams. "I mean, they paid a lot,'' said Banner, who confirmed the Eagles (3-3) did attempt to trade for Kansas City Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez prior to the Oct. 14 deadline."

"Time will tell. I wouldn't pay that much for a player like that.'' The injury-ravaged Cowboys (4-3) also sent a sixth-round selection and picked up Detroit's seventh rounder next April for Williams, a 2006 Pro Bowler who was thrown to only twice in Sunday's 34-14 loss to the St. Louis Rams and did not register a catch. While addressing the team's approach to improving the roster, the Birds' president took yet another swipe at the Cowboys. "Our goal is to win a Super Bowl, forget win a playoff game, which is something they are still working on,'' Banner said. Dallas, which defeated the Eagles 41-37 Sept. 15, have not won a playoff game since 1996."

well it has gone from other teams fans, to the media, to other teams players and now other teams excecutives are insulting this franchise.

Wait till we play the giants. Every single day is going to be filled with insults and jokes about this cowboys team from the giants players, coaches and the ny media is going to slaughter jerry, wade and of course they are retards so it will be a week of jessica simpson crap.

This is what happens when the team has no backbone and gives a crappy effort and blows a season before halloween because they just simply dont care and they know there jobs arent in jeopardy. The coaches will be fired, they wont.

Sad times for us fans.

It's nice bringing up our 5 SB's in response to Banner, but the fact remains that we haven't done squat in 11 years.

:hammer:

While any member of the Eagles' front office personnell should probably remain silent when talking about winning, it doesn't do anyone any good to continue to hug those 5 Lombardi Trophies. For starters, Jerry Jones only owns three of those, second, the last time he one was in 1995, and third, we are currently the laughing stock of the NFL, along with Detroit and the Bengals.

The funny thing about it is, like Dale Hansen said yesterday, guess what other team not named the Detroit Lions and Cincinnati Bengals has not won a Playoff Game in over 12 Seasons?

Yep, the Dallas Cowboys.

The Giants talk more **** than a little bit and it has nothing to do with them being defending champs. They were already the biggest **** talkers around. Classless really. I don't care if we are down and we deserve it, blah, blah, blah. It's still classless.

Can not believe he had the balls or perhaps ignorance to say that.

Well according to his "goal" they've done as little as we have in the past 11 years!

OMT- I'll go ahead and take you advice about forgetting the playoffs wins and focus on the fact that you still haven't won a Super Bowl. You Jack-***

Your last 5 years of first round draft picks....

2008
Felix Jones
Mike Jenkins

2007
Anthony Spencer

2006
Bobby Carpenter

2005
Demarcus Ware
Marcus Spears

2003
Terrence Newman

That's as good a haul as any team in the league. As good as your '05 draft was, the '04 draft was as poor as anything anybody has done the last 5 years. Lukily Patrick Crayton remains a bit player, otherwise it'd be disaster.

None of that justifies an NFL exec taking shots at another ball club. When Jerry made a statement about the Houston Texans, the media jumped all over it, resulting in an apology from Jerry. Let's see if they criticize this Banner guy. NOT!

Registration wasn't approved for some reason. Never did find out why, but that's not the point.

You guys beat us down that day. And somethin' fierce too. We had terrible depth, and trotted out guys that weren't NFL players. We took the beating, ate some humble pie, and got better. When holes are exposed like they were that day, things get real clear for a coaching staff.

We come back to Dallas with a different team, and a new attitude.

We also remember.
