Eagles exploring trading A.J. Brown

Time for Philly to somehow pull 4 first round picks for Brown
I'm expecting the Raiders to throw them a 2027 2nd rounder.....AJ Brown.....Meet Tim....

Imagine trading a star player before the draft.

Why isn’t Howie waiting until six days before the first regular season game. Is he stupid?
I mean the situations aren’t parallel. This time last year Micah wasn’t a malcontent and they were gonna sign him. Jerry feel is got hurt six days before the first game and traded him.

Isn’t the cap hit $47 million if they trade him now? If they’re going to take that hit they are giving up on 2026.
They might as well, they gave up way too many players to sign Hurts and AJ, they are not going anywhere in 26 anyway.

The NFC East is the worst division in the NFL. They might think they can win it while they rebuild. There’s at least 10 QBs making more than Hurts, and there will be more in the near future. Every team has the same salary cap, and every team has to pay the minimum in player compensation. Teams can keep some guys, not all of them. Hurts isn’t even in his prime yet. He’s like 27. He’s not the problem.

When teams spend big on players they have to make sure it’s the right ones. Philly got their Super Bowl. They should be aiming for 2028, 2029. Cowboys need to be aiming for right now. They pay Dak quite a bit. In 2026 they’re paying their top two receivers more than the Eagles pay theirs. Philly is downshifting, the Giants are trying to establish their footing, Commanders will be building a strong team to coincide with the completion of their new stadium. This should be the Cowboys time, at long last.

No team is trading two ones, or even a one and a two for either one of them.
Never underestimate the desperation of a “win now” GM fighting for his job. We’ve seen some head scratching deal go down before.

I agree. Outside of a few QBs, I'm not sure any player is worth two ones given the value of 4-5 years of cheap control.
Brown’s contract is a big one, Pickens’ will be bigger. I’m sure a lot of teams would be willing to do the compensation, but not give up big draft capital for the opportunity to do it.

Cowboys backed by the genius duo of Jerry and Stephen will get AJ Brown. Thinking that 3 all star receievers is surely the recipe for a SB that has unfairly eluded them over the years.

Ugh, this is one of those nights where I so can't stand this team and the fans on this forum for being so bleeeeeping blind to the fact that you have an absolute loser GM running this franchise. You will never win another SB with the Jones morons in charge.
But load up to run the Power I formation 67% of the time.....

He's done there........once the toothpaste is out of the tube with AJ Brown kind of player, you can't put it back in. Howie is setting this up for a pre-draft trade. My guess is he will use it to move into the top 10-15.
And who do you think they would be targeting in the top 10? Their biggest needs are OT and DE. They could probably wait in the draft and get a decent OT in the mid-20s. I see them as needing depth more than anything. If you think Brown is going to be gone and the patriots? Will pay a first and 2nd round pick for him that will leave them with plenty of powder for some good talented kids in the first and 2nd round. I still maintain they might very well trade Brown but not without getting a boatload for him mainly because he's not only a talented 28-year-old player, but what he costs. The Eagles will have to eat a lot of his contract to make any trade viable and they won't do that unless someone over pays for him like the patriots might. To be determined.

Someone needs to tell Roseman he's going to bankrupt the Eagles. Came across this on my yahoo news feed.

I will never understand the salary cap when the NFL is more than a multi billion dollar industry. How many years has it been when everyone here is saying that the Eagles are going to pay the price down the road and they won't be able to keep any good players?

Day 2 of FA. And Brown still with the Eagles.
Roseman lost it, no super big trade.
Is no team interested?

NFLN keeps touting NE but it had not happened.

I can't beleive with all their free agent defections on defense, they haven't swung a trade for him. Howie likes his draft picks and it would seem AJ could bring a premium pick.

Depends, his contract is very reasonable for a player of his caliber and he's got 3 years left on it. He's underpaid relative to the top of the market. He's better than any WR in this draft.

Will be 29 in June, down year last season, and was / is becoming a cancer.

I don’t think any team gives up a 1 for him imo
