I'm not trying to be a hater, im just asking an honest question.. It seems like whenever the Eagles are brought up you get angry loud responses from any NFC East teams fans.. Some are respectful and realistic, others all they can is they suck and they'll lose the divison. Honestly though, if you know football, and you've been keeping track of what the Eagles have done in the offseason, how they've looked in training camp, in the preseason.. You have to be a little bit worried that it's going to be "there divison" again.. heres some reasons why i think so...

1. A healthy Mcnabb means trouble for the nfc east (I'm not even going any further on that one cause you all have experinced what he can do firsthand)

2. The defense looks a lot like the defense that won back to back to back to back nfc east titles (3 or 4 i cant remember) defensive line is loaded with big physical guys, pro bowl secondary is healthy, linebacking core is adequate but not great (eagles never had a great linebacking core anyway)

3. The receivers- everybody keeps saying the Eagles receivers suck, sorry to say your wrong, nobody left is exactly TO, but these kids can play. Reggie Brown is a good receiver, and you'll see that this year. Also I can't say enough about Hank Baskett, they traded for him from Minnesota and all he's done is basically shock every single person in the Eagles system, outplaying every receiver by far and people are quietly talking about this kid as the next Chris Chambers or better, he already took over Pinkstons starting spot most likely (he started camp as something like the 5th receiver and shot all the way up the depth chart. Also, Westbrook, a good running back, a great receiver, LJ Smith, a very good Tight End..

4. The offensive line of the Eagles is better than anyones in the divison, I personally think they have the best offensive and defensive line in the entire divison, and Im a firm believer that whoever controls the line, controls the game...

So am I crazy? or should the Cowboys be really worried right now? (No hater responses wanted, real football fans who know what the **** there talking about)

I think the Eagles are very capable of returning back to form, assuming McNabb can stay healthy. It would be a grave mistake for any team, NFC East especially to take them lightly.

I would question Philly's depth. I do not think that it is there.

At the least, Cowboys fans should be afraid of Eagles fans, who I think are the East Coast's version of the Raider fans.

in one word, NO! McNab is the biggest choke in the league, No WR to throw to, Westbrook is already showing signs of being injured a lot this year, as far as the defense goes, yes they will be tough, but when they are on the field for 40 min because the offense can't move the ball,, they won't be so tough. Eagles wil finish last in the division!

I am worried about every team in the NFC EAST this year, but they should be worried about us as well.

IMO I can see any of the 4 teams finishing first or last. It is that close.
I really believe a little luck and injuries are going to play a HUGE role this year in our division. It should be fun to watch.

Rick Gosselin mentioned a good point on his blog a while back - could you name the receivers on the Eagles team that made the NFC Championships before TO? I couldn't.

The eagles are a team to be concerned about and to be respected. However, just as Cowboy fans are concerned about our O-line and FS position (less and lesss so at FS though;) ) The eagles should be quite concerned about the LB corps and WR talent. Also, the lack of a big RB.

Depending on injuries and luck, any team in the NFC East could end up first and any team in the NFC East could end up last. I think the four team are strong and very evenly matched. I think Dallas and Washington have a slightly better chance than Pliladelphia and New York.

You always have to be worried about Andy Reid and Jim Johnson as coaches. However their secondary was exposed last year. Other than Westbrook none of the RBs scare anyone, ditto for their WRs.

I'll give their offensive and defensive lines credit for looking good right now and that's probably the best part of their team.

McNabb is a proven choker in big games and with no go-to WRs he'll struggle as much or more this year.

McNabb has had a ton of success in this league. It is stupid to be so dismissive of his talent and performance. He lead his team deep into the playoffs five years in a row with questionable talent around him.

I dont know if "afraid" is the right word. In fact, it's not. Like others here, I feel the proper respect is in order for Philly...as well as the other two teams opposing Dallas in this division.

Each club has parts to it that are fairly imposing. And each has some real questions. Like last season, the East should be a dogfight well into December.

Sam Hurd could start for this team.

Philly fans seem to keep forgetting, or not be willing to admit, that Dallas's defense has been built to neutralize McNabb.
A 3-4 with speedy LBers who can catch McNabb if they don't confuse him into typical poor throws at critical times.
Philly's d-line could be good but I am not buying until I see it consistently in regular season games.
Westbrook has always scared me but he can't stay healthy.
The WRs are very weak.
Don't get all excited because they won some preseason games against poor teams evaluating their own players.
This ain't 2001 anymore. The NFC East has passed the Eagles by.

the Iggs have the OLINE and DLINE to be in every game no matter who is at the skill... I must admit I think their secondary is weak!

the thing they have that no other NFceast team has is OL depth!

Hats off to Gryphon for a Great thread ...

...It seems like whenever the Eagles are brought up you get angry loud responses from any NFC East teams fans...

Did anyone else hear that sound ...that was a very loud clanging sound of a hammer slamming down flat on the top of a nail!

More often than not, during one of my threads/posts, about a perfectly legitimate dialogue; usually concerning an opinionated response, the thread/post (nonwithstanding) gets pelted with angry responses, even hateful responses in the form worst case scenarios, leaving no doubt about the total superiority of their team and the total inferiority of the Eagles.

Is that fear, or perhaps the lack of a football savvy to defend a position without degradating someone else's perspective. Now when I say is that ignorance, I want you to understand that it's meant in the form of "unawareness" not stupidity. For example, I'm ignorant (without information) about how the Eagles GM is going to deal with WR depth, etc). That said, it's ignorant to endorse another team's demise prior to the season start.

Well there's always the argument ..."we can say anything we want, about any team because it's our fandom's message board." But that only goes so far.

In terms of the Eagles, I can tell you that gthe Eagles are preparing to be a legitimate contender and representative in the NFC. I'm not trying to compare your team against mine. I've always given credit the Cowboys for being a legitimate contender, but you know your situation better than I do. Building your team up in a post has not bearing On what your franchise will actually do in the regular season ...I learned that last year. But this year brings different chain of events, some will be expected ...but watch out for those unexpected chain of events!

The biggest problem I see with the Eagles are their depth. We found that out the hard way from 1997 basically to the present.

Before you say it, rookies are not depth. They have potential.
