We got 3 defensive lineman in the offseason with one possibly being a stud again (Melton) plus we have Tyrone Crawford and Ben Bass coming off injury we also got spencer and selvie. The whole point with Marinelli's defense is to attack in waves with fresh body's. We definitely got that.
I agree with FRESH and BODIES. That about it. I'm not as optimistic as you. Bunch of unproven guys except Melton who's coming off injury. No one on this D who need to be game planned.

One more 3 rd rounder gives us another chance to hit on another player.

Steven admitted they overpaid, that's fine sometimes you have to do that. We felt he was a 1st round talent in an area of need. I just hope they are right.

Because of the value in this draft we could of gotten another starter with our 3rd so in a way yea we did over pay a bit. I am hearing chatter that they are not done tonight. Now here is my reason why they might not of over payed from the way they think From my sources I am hearing they had Lawrence the 8th best defensive player in the draft and they had him in the first round. So to them they got two first round picks value wise so in a way it equals out.

I hope in a year or two when they "redo the draft" on NFL network we can see Martin and Lawrence in the top half of the 1st round. But right now...I'm a bit depressed.

We do NOT have Spencer... Don't count on that at all.

I will admit I didn't like it at first

But then I studied the player more and got the real value of the trade and now I back it 100%.

They overpaid because Atlanta was also trying to trade up to that spot for the same player. They were offering a 4th and the skins would only have to go down 4 spots. Dallas had to sweeten the deal to get it. That's how business is done. They either had to give up the 3rd or watch Atlanta take the player they coveted.

Liked the Player, though thought we got fleeced in the Trade. If your information is true maybe it wasn't too bad of a deal after all.....there is you some cheese with my whine!

Go Cowboys

Do we know this as a fact? Someone from Atlanta FO confirmed this? Or just Cowboys blowing smoke and got played by Washington? We may never know.

Cowboys22 is absolutely if you guys remember the very beginning in the draft the falcons wanted to move up for clowney and if they couldn't get him they would've taken Mack but obviously the price was to high. I do believe this is true and not a smokescreen if that's the case their next best case was pretty much the same as the cowboys which was Lawrence. Notice they went DT with their pick a few picks later. I do believe the falcons really wanted and coveted Lawrence.

So why did SF only gave up a 3rd to move up last year? Jones are just idiots. Pretty much everyone agrees that we over paid to move up in the 2nd.

They came out on top according to their board.

Last year they didn't. Year before they did.

Whether or not you think their value system is constructed properly is up to you.

So is Lawrence > Jernigan + Martin ?

Is Demarcus Lawrence better than Timmy Jernigan AND Kareem Martin, that's the question. ... to me they are all basically the same player with the same chance and the Cowboys needed Depth.

However, that depth may be waiting in the 3rd Day. Remember all of this DL class got severely out classed by the OLine draftees. The point being, how much better are the mid-early tier picks than the 4th-5th tiers.

Again let me explain this. Jernigan and Martin have played 4 years. Demarcus Lawrence is coming out a Junior so he only played two seasons. Now in those two seasons he had 134 total tackles 34 tackles for loss 20 sacks 7 forced fumbles 3 blocked kicks on special teams and two interceptions. Now that is just in two college seasons. I don't care who you are those are monstrous numbers for only two college seasons. The kid is not done growing yet he still has a ton of potential. I saw on Twitter that Will McClay pounded the table in the draft room and said this kid is a quarterback killer.
