I would say that pickles and pickle juice are consistent with good dietary practices. Everybody should drink some ever day.

Pickle Juice is becoming a favorite among many athletes. It has been found to help reduce cramps in athletes, whether racing bikes or playing football, or whatever kind of sport you partake in, pickle juice will give you more electrolytes than the more popular "ade" drinks. In fact 30 times more than PowerAde and 15 times more than Gatorade. Preventing dehydration is a major factor in any sport, and with the salt content along with the acetic acid, it has been found that pickle juice is much better than isotonic drinks that contain citric acid.

Why does it help so much? Pickle juice contains salt, calcium chloride and vinegar, in addition to flavorings (dill, bread & butter, etc). And don't forget the cucumbers which play an important part in the effects of pickle juice. So, with all these ingredients mixed together you can't go wrong.

Getting past the taste, for some, is going to be the real challenge, but there again, personally some enjoy the taste. You should never throw away pickle juice. There are so many uses for it. It can be used in salads, marinades and other recipes. And for you drinkers out there, it is great for hangovers, for the same reasons it is good for athletes that sweat a lot. It gives back what the body has lost or/and needs.

Sauerkraut juice is also good in many of the ways of pickle juice is, and it taste good with certain meals. It is also used in marinades for pork and other meats.

I remember that game well ...I was so proud of the Eagles victory that I've been having pickle juice with my corn flakes ever since  .

NOTE: I'm just kidding ...sliced pickles and corn flakes are so much better;)

The Cowboys were awful. While I know little of the benefits of pickle juice, the Eagles could've drank stagnant seawater and beat the Cowboys that day.

All I know is that the combination of pickle juice, ridiculous heat and a crappy Cowboys defense led to 200 yards for Duce Staley.

One of the darkest days in Dallas Cowboys history.

I remember that they had just brought in Joey Galloway, with Rocket Ismail on the opposite side. Emmitt was still Emmitt. Before the game, they asked Aikman about how hot it was that day and he replied that there was shade in the Endzone. After I heard that, I was stoked!

And then, the serious butt-whoopin commenced, as did a wretched stretch of football.

Please don't just drink pickle juice. Too much salt! Gatorade is great. So is water 1/2 with 1/2 Gatorade. That's water then gatorage then water. You don't have to mix it but that's ok, too. Just drink water when you sweat. BTW, Gatorade is mostly water.

I remember the game in question EXTREMELY well. I remember a few hours prior to the game saying to my wife that I wasn't worried about the game, at all, because unless Dallas decided to simply not show up then there was no way the Eagles would even get close, let alone beat them.

I heard about that statement for a couple of years after that, from her. I remember them just kicking our cans all over the field, running at will, and Joey Galloway blowing out his knee very late in the game, when it was already well out of hand and he shouldn't have been in there anyway, and that pretty much setting the tone for a miserable season.
