lol. Chip's going to be back in college this February or March. Just in time to try and get some last minute recruits.

If he takes a college job in Feb or March, he won't get any last minute recruits. Signing Day is Feb 3rd.

For such an alleged tight run programme there always seems to be chatter coming from the locker room about other players. I don't know if it's the Philly media or not, but I don’t see this happening to other teams.

I always felt this way about Murray... I never understood why people categorized him as this "tough runner", when in reality, he almost always chose to go out of bounds rather than trying to cut it back in and gain valuable extra yardage... He also had a tendency to take a play that was going to lose a yard or two, and turn it into a drive killing loss of 7 or 8 yards... Then add in the fact that he lost 6 fumbles last season, including one that really hurt in the playoff loss, and I don't see how anybody can argue that he was really worth big time money...

Chip needs to mix in testosterone into Demarco's smoothie this week

I want to give Murray some respect for setting cowboys rushing record and never wanting to come out of games. He may not be perfect like we want him to be, but he earned my respect for last year as a cowboys

I can understand avoiding some contact if you are being asked to carry the ball 30-35 times each week like he was in Dallas but not if you are only getting 15-20 touches a game. This was my fear with re-signing Murray. The fact that he was able to ramp it up like he did last year in a contract year told me he wasnt giving his all in the prior three years. That tells me his motivation was the big contract, not being the best RB of his generation and winning titles along the way like what motivated Emmit. Knowing that, I feared what he would become after being given the guaranteed life changing money and I think it's proving to be true. He is not in a very good situation but he also is not nearly the same player he was last year. Once you achieve your #1 goal, it's hard to maintain the drive that got you there. Murray's #1 goal was the money. He had the drive for one year to get it and now it's gone. If his #1 goal was being the best, we would have had three years like last year and the money would have come from Jerry and probably a year sooner. It's too bad many people in that position never realize this.

Murray went out of bounds or dropped when he needed to. He certainly took the "business decision" approach at times.

But you not understanding why people say he's a tough runner makes me think you're blocking out all the tough runs he had in his career here.

As for his play in Philly, from the times I've watched him, just haven't seen the passion he had when he was here.

I believe they call that impending paycheck passion. :)

I will forever believe that Philly signed Murray to take him from the Cowboys. I don't care what Chip says. Murray is about as bad a fit in that offense as it can get. Murray made a business decision to take the money and play in Philly anyway, much like he sometimes makes a business decision not to take a hit.

Meh, I never found anything exceptionally tough about Murray's style of running... I saw him go hard at DB's, but he would not go nearly as hard if he was coming head to head with a bigger LB... I'm not trying to totally and unfairly disparage Murray's ability, for instance I will admit that he has above average vision for RB and he was really good at choosing his lanes around the LOS... I'm just saying, I'm glad we didn't re-sign him, he's really not that special imo...
