He went for contact his first two years, Emmitt even commented on it. I think avoiding hits really only started the last 2-3 years.

And FWIW, I think that player is referencing a Murray slide from last week against Miami.............. not yesterday.

Murray went out of bounds or dropped when he needed to. He certainly took the "business decision" approach at times.

But you not understanding why people say he's a tough runner makes me think you're blocking out all the tough runs he had in his career here.

As for his play in Philly, from the times I've watched him, just haven't seen the passion he had when he was here.

Only when he played us, I saw that passion.

Seriously, the guy probably has a lot of regret, at least on the football side of things. He had roots in Dallas, his Dad is a big fan and he considered Romo, Garrett, Witten and Dez his brothers. He was also a perfect fit for this system while he is now in a system that is a bad fit and not getting half the opportunities he got in Dallas. He has no roots or connection to Philly, he chose to join that team partially because of Sam Bradford and I would bet Bradford will be a backup on a different team next season.

On that same note, I doubt he would return that money to have a do over.

I'm calling it right now, Chip bolts for college, Manning gets cut by the Broncos, Seany leaves the bayou for the city who's greatest sports hero is a fictional boxer and you have the Payton/Peyton combination getting them no super bowls. 100%

27:54 is the play where he slid.

Strange really.

It was pretty bad. If he would have been a QB, he would not have gotten the first down, because they would have marked it where he began the slide. When I first heard about this, I thought it might have a "dive forward" slide, but this was a feet first slide where he may or may not have made a first down. It would have been different if he just ran out of bounds to avoid contact after getting the first down. I can see why teammates weren't happy.

I want to give Murray some respect for setting cowboys rushing record and never wanting to come out of games. He may not be perfect like we want him to be, but he earned my respect for last year as a cowboys

He's a fraud who took the money and ran...to a division opponent. He deserves what he's got.

Being a loser team, and franchise, like the Eagles are that will lead to these kinds of things.

Every single day I assure you that Murray wishes he'd simply stayed in Dallas and hadn't followed the extra money. I do not feel sorry for him in the least.

When he pays his taxes in April and figures in the increase in cost of living in the northeast that money figure is going to become a more insignificant

Wow, unbelievable to do what is good for him and his family. I have problems with what Jay Ratlif did, but I am OK with Murray giving 100% when he was here

I always felt this way about Murray... I never understood why people categorized him as this "tough runner", when in reality, he almost always chose to go out of bounds rather than trying to cut it back in and gain valuable extra yardage... He also had a tendency to take a play that was going to lose a yard or two, and turn it into a drive killing loss of 7 or 8 yards... Then add in the fact that he lost 6 fumbles last season, including one that really hurt in the playoff loss, and I don't see how anybody can argue that he was really worth big time money...
Murray had exactly one rush last year that went for -7 yards or worse. It was a 14-yard loss, and it happened against Chicago when we already had a 35-13 lead (and he ran for 40 yards on the previous play).

He had another rush for -6 yards in the first Philadelphia game. We were already out of it and it was a 4th down play.

Last year, I remember all these complaints about Murray looking for contact instead of running where there looked to be open field. The revisionist history is strong here.

He had better offers elsewhere. He went to PHI to stick it to the Cowboys. Funny thing, though, he forgot to bring his stick with him.

Now he's a punchline in an ugly green jersey who slides to the first down marker in order to avoid contact.

Yeah, it wasn't last season, maybe it was the season before that, but there was one play I remember where it was a close game, we were getting close to scoring, and Murray turned a small loss into a big one... I remember Romo bailed us out on a long 3rd and goal, but it just illustrated to me that Murray is not a smart player... And I've seen him do the same thing multiple times this season with the Eagles... Murray is not a special RB, the Cowboys did the right thing letting him walk...

It was Romo's final game in 2013 when he led the Cowboys over Washington in the final seconds. 1st and goal at the one or two yd line, and then Murray lost about 10 yds on a run.
Fortunately, Romo was able to throw to Murray for a TD on 4th down. Then, Romo had back surgery a few days later.
