Walter Thurmond is a good slot corner. At least that fills a need for them since... No wait... Brandon Boykin is still on the team.

Jimmy Johnson had penchant for signing Miami players. Now the Foles trade. That is a laughing matter.

Yes Jimmy did get player from Miami, more on defensive side of the ball. He also hired Norv Turner to run the offense. Kelly is not just getting Duck players he is trying to install his college offense in Philly.

True. My post was more to the point that it is fairly common for college coaches to lean on their former college players when they become NFL head coaches. Now how he is going about it is puzzling. The media is still calling Kelly a genius. We will see I suppose. But genius seems laughable at this juncture.

I understand leaning on talented players and in fairness Oregon has been a successful program with a lot of good talented players coming out of the program. I guess where I part with Kelly is trying to replicate the offensive system in the pros with his hurry up which I think can be a problem in the pros when you run it from start to finish. I think hurry up as a change of pace can be a great thing but when you run it through out the game I think it can create situation of keeping your defense out on the field for a lot of min and it takes it's toll on them.

But Jimmy's college player could actually play in the NFL, and the ones that couldn't, he cut them, or replaced them as soon as he could.
And they actually won a NCAA Championship...

True. But to play the devils advocate, these players may be borderline NFL players in another system. But they know his system, his way of coaching and will be united with him in the locker room. These intangibles might allow for them to be serviceable players for the Eagles. Now with that said, I hope he keeps trading away his whole team and signing Oregon scrubs.

Eagles reached agreement with former Giants and Seahawks CB Walter Thurmond, per source. Thurmond now teams up again with Byron Maxwell.

Will Chip Kelly not be happy until he has signed the entire University of Oregon?

These guys are used to the discipline that will be asked of them. I see this trend continue. He continue to show he believes scheme over talent will triumph.
